I heard Bulls have been working this guy out and he will be signing with Chicago. I don't know much about Beverley but he was the Euro MVP.
UPDATE: It's not a done deal yet but is very close to being one. I heard the information from Matt and I had someone at ESPN confirm it. I have more updated news on this subject the Bulls aren't going to sign Beverley just yet but he will be in the Bulls training camp from what I've heard. I am hearing two stories at the moment so I don't want to come in and post that's a done deal because I am not that type of poster I am here to deliver any rumors I hear regarding the Bulls. I know everyone is anxious just like my self to see a move but don't expect anything big at the moment. The Bulls are just looking for players that are going to play for the MINIMUM.

If the Chicago Bulls Transformers toy had an alternate mode, it would be a tank.

He fits the Derrick/Teague mold. Fast pg who likes to get to the cup but isn't a strong outside shooter. If he's dynamic though, that might work out well. And I think he has the rep of being a pest on D, which is always nice to find in a 1. I don't know how pesty Kirk can be, especially full court.

Are the bulls getting a bunch of rose-like PGs so they can turn Rose into a rose-like SG cuz they can't seem to find an actual SG?

So..
SG Richard Hamilton
PG Kirk Hinrich/Marquis Teague/Patrick Beverley
IR: Rose
I wonder if we're planning to use Hinrich as a 20-minute SG. That'd be asking too much, and it'd already be something we've tried years ago that didn't work. Oh well.

Hmmm wouldn't he only cost like $500K or something? Managements' plan of getting under the tax is getting closer and closer....

Interesting, 3 PGs on the roster, and we're about to sign a 4th. Either they don't think much at all of Teague or they think Derrick will be out a very long time.

Honestly, I wont believe it until I see its official and actually signed.
He is basically a rookie since he hasnt truly played in the NBA outside of that small stint in Miami a few years ago.
The Bulls wont bring in a rookie to backup kirk and take min away for Teague.
My guess is they bring in a vet who can either score or run a team. Ala the Mike James/Rafer Alston/John Lucas/Jannero Pargo mold.
They wont take a chance on this guy. Just my two cents. Nothing to base it on other than the Bulls previous moves.

i bet Teague vs Beverly in practice would be good for teague's development.

In fairness to Beverley, you can't group him completely in line with the not-good-enough-for-NBA crowd since the lockout encouraged players to get the best overseas contract as quick as they could.
And also....while I don't know the exact specifics of his first foray into playing in Europe...some of those contracts are pretty enticing when instead faced with having to make an NBA team.
Point being, he has gotten some good experience the last few years, being groomed on someone else's dime. Not entirely a rookie in that sense. Has become a pro already as a manner of lifestyle, perhaps.

I do not think there is any question that the Bulls will sign a PG to backup Kirk, until Rose returns. I would expect it to be more of a vet. I would not be surprised to see Beverly get a camp invite, but would be surprised if he received any type of a guaranteed contract.

Anyone who thought the Bulls would only go into the season with Kirk and Teague as healthy PGs wasn't looking at the roster spots required to fill. The Bulls aren't going to go into the season needing Teague to play 15 mpg. He may earn it, but they don't want it to be essential that he play.
That said, when Rose gets back, 4 PGs is excessive on a 13 man roster, and thus I can imagine Beverly may be non-guaranteed so that when Rose gets back they have the option to cut him and sign a 5th big (I think they'll only start with 4 bigs).
Thus, Beverly, who I know nothing of, may be the best PG that will agree to a non-guaranteed deal. I'm just speculating but that's what I'd do as the Bulls FO - pick the best PG who will agree to a non-guaranteed deal.

Beverly makes a lot of sense since he won't be a normal rookie since playing overseas. He'll probably start the season as the 2nd PG which is fine. I haven't seen much of him but from what I've be able to read, they say he is really good on defense.
