I'd be fine with McGrady. He could play some backup PG while Rose is out (like he did in Detroit) and then slide to backup SG or SF depending on injuries or trades (i.e. Rip). I wouldn't expect much out of him, just someone who could get us into our sets with a positive assist/TO ratio (unlike Teague for now) and get a shot off every now and then when he has a height advantage.

Well, if such players would be available, the Bulls would probably do excatly that. But to be fair, the amount of players with upside while being able to help to win games NOW is pretty much 0. Especially if you take into account, that those players rather want a longer contract, while the vets seem to be fine with 1yr deals.

Chasing T-Mac I'm pretty sure is the official sign that this team is 'done'.

Keep in mind Bellineli can play some PG.

He isn't very good either.

I'm not sure how high the Bulls are on Bevs or how good Moore can run the Point but they definitely need another Combo Guard here.

Another option is Johnny Flynn who we havent heard about in weeks.

Keep in mind that there is room for only one player, if the reported signing numbers are correct. The total for 12 players is $73M, and the Bulls are hard capped at $74M. It was posted, and confirmed earlier, that any FA, even a rookie, counts at least the 2 year vet min, when calculating the salary counting toward the hard cap. That means that after you add the 13th player, you can not add another player, until 10-day contracts start, late in the season, unless you trade away another salary. The Bulls have a need for a backup PG, and SF, but you can only pick one.

Unless there was a S&T for Kirk, and they sign Belinelli for BAE money, but not using the BAE, or they actually took ls than reported, you need to focus on the one player you want, or suggest trades.

I was a fan of McGrady for the last 2 seasons, but hopefully that ship has sailed and they really arn't considering him. It'd be interesting to have another playmaker, but he and Rip led that "mutiny" in Detroit(I didn't think it was a big deal but with the way guys were privately complaining about Rip's attitude last season I would not risk it) and he also went on a rant last in ATL after a DNP-CD or only playing 5 minutes or something.

CJ Miles has sucked since D. Will left Utah, I wouldn't mind him here on the minimum but he probably goes somewhere else.

I've been a Pietrus fan forever and I've been calling for him or Delfino all offseason, but if he's not taking the minimum I don't think we can get him.

The guy I would love here is Nate Robinson, he's a better version of Lucas who could be a spark off the bench not to mention he plays with a ton of passion and seems like a good locker room guy

You're wrong the Bulls are pursuing two players since they can only afford one.

I don't think the numbers we've heard are right because KC has said we're looking to add 1-2 players. You'd have to assume the Bulls are set up to do such.

As far as this report. I said weeks ago the Bulls were looking at Miles and actually got a text at 2:30am ET (after Holv03 post) saying Bulls still looking at Miles and also Nate Robinson.

The one thing I'd say and it's also why I've been very quiet this summer is every team looks at every player and coming on here saying Bulls looking at player X is not earth shattering. I have no clue how serious the talks are or not. People would have to be pretty dumb to think we look at just a handful of players and that's it. Basically what I'm saying is if a player is a free agent I'd say every NBA team at one point has contacted them.

If we could get Nate Robinson and then Malcolm Thomas too that would be great!

Hinrich, Robinson, Teague
Hamilton, Belinelli
Deng, Butler, Radmanovic
Boozer, Gibson, Thomas
Noah, Mohammed

Thats your 13 while Rose is out...Thats pretty good. It is 4-5 in the East IMO and then maybe a little more once Rose gets back...I still think it is possible that when Rose gets back that Rip might get moved and we go with Rose and Robinson at PG and then Hinrich and Belinelli at SG...

Agreed. That would be a nice way to round out the off-season. Robinson would play the JLIII role quite well.

I'd be pretty happy with Nate as the 3rd PG/combo guard on this team. Little dude can score when he puts a mind to it - and is a pretty decent defender. A bit of a knucklehead - though a very thoughtful guy in every interview I've seen of him.

*Do we have the final numbers on the Hinrich contract? I've got the Bulls at 72.17 million, but that's with Hinrich at 3.2 million.

I agree, Nate Robinson would be a good addition on this team. Robinson knows Thibodeau as well

If Hinrich starts a little lower than $4m, around $3.6m-$3.7m, and we jam down Teague a bit, we should have space to sign 2 vet mins. Right now Teague's cap hold is only 100%, not 120%, so only $857k. Depending on other moves, we might not have 120% to offer. Not sure if this has ever happened before since the apron / hard cap is new.

Since the taxpayer MLE starts at $3.09m, your number is at least those 0.11 off. Overall I have 71.0 so far for 12 players.

$15.507m - Rose
$15.000m - Boozer
$13.365m - Deng
$11.300m - Noah
$5.000m - Hamilton
$3.090m - Hinrich
$2.156m - Gibson
$1.957m - Belinelli
$1.067m - Butler
$0.857m - Teague
$0.854m - Radmanovic
$0.854m - Mohammed

The numbers K.C reported are wrong being that multiple sources also said we can add 2.

$15.507m - Rose - actually about 16.4 million due to new max
$0.857m - Teague - you're not giving him the max 120% that he will get
