RIP, Tommy Udo 6- P.13 update w/Memorial Info

by Wewing
I wanted to pass along sad news I received today. I knew longtime moderator Tommy Udo 6 in real life, and had sent an e-mail to his office yesterday about his upcoming trip to Chicago. I received a reply from his manager today that he passed away last Friday. I have not been able to find an obituary online, nor do I know his Chicago-area family well enough to follow up, but if I learn more I will post the information.
I'm sure it's not an exaggeration to say hundreds of us here have benefitted from his knowledge, especially with regards to Bulls history and CBA information.
George my friend--say hello to Norm & Red when you see them.

Yes he did, I forgot what it was.
Anyway, RIP George. Wow! that's so terrible to hear. Anyone know what happened? Was it a cause of age, illness, accident or something else?

Argh. These always suck. Will always remember him as a CBA man...and also one of the voices that would always remind us that Uncle Jerry wasn't payin' no luxury tax.
I hope we'll pay it repeatedly during Derrick Rose's years here and win at least one title...and Tommy U will be happy that he was finally wrong (cause he's been right all these years on it).

I haven't been on the Bulls board much lately, so this really took me by surprise. I didn't know the guy personally, but he made a big impact around here and he will be missed. RIP mate.

Wow. Shocking News. Rest in Peace George (Tommy Udo 6/Bulls 6).
For those of us on here for years, lurkers or active posters, it is quite sad to hear this news. At the same time, it shows how strong of a Bulls community we have here that a person whom I've never met, have only read his thoughts for years regarding the Bulls, makes me sad to know that person is gone. He was a great contributor to this board. Rest in Peace.

Terrible news.
Tommy was one of the first mods that helped me get comfortable on this board. He was always willing to respond & help when he could. I know that this is only a message board, but I grew accustomed to seeing his avatar (my favorite) like I'm accustomed to seeing one of my real life family members. This feels like I'm losing a family member.
Rest In Peace, Tommy Udo 6.
You will be missed, my brother.

I haven't been on this board in a very long time do to a new job and a lot of travel. However, upon seeing this news I had to find a minute to log on and say Rest In Peace. Bulls6. I met him online years ago on a different forum and had the pleasure to chat with him on ICQ on a few occasions. A true gentlemen. Best wishes to his family and the many people i'm sure feel a deep sadness after his passing.
RIP George. You will be missed.
