Love me some Marcus Smart. Is he a one and done?
Ben McLemore is another 2 guard I think we could target. Athletic and a nice stroke.

Been a good day for watching prospects. Shabazz, Kyle Anderson, J.M. McAdoo, Cody Zeller, all have been on tv today.

Watched some of that OK St. - NC St. Finals game Sunday. Yeah, Smart looks really really good. He just flat out embarrassed and owned Lorenzo Brown. Can do it all...

I see a lot of Eric Bledsoe in Marcus Smart. He has good size for a PG too. And he's a natural born leader.
Jerry Reinsdorf; the undisputed king of allowing his GM's to run amok with unchecked power and ego.

Re: College Basketball/Draft Prospects Thread
As a huge Michigan fan, I understand it's been only three games against overmatched opponents, but Tim Hardaway Jr is showing a much improved stroke from three. He's also added a little bit of weight to his slender frame. Add to the fact he's always been a great rebounder and fairly good defender, he could be a guy to look at.
And you'll get to see them on ESPN with the NIT today and Friday.

I think Big Dog's son is a better prospect.

i agree. he's got softer shooting touch than TH jr, he's a tad more athletic, better passer and he really knows how to move without the ball.
if he declared, he'd be one of my main targets in the teens. i have him staying one more yr though.
ben mclemore is my guy for the bulls in this draft, but i already have him in the top 10.
i wonder how a derrick rose/marcus smart back court would work out. smart likes to play with the ball in his hands and he's more of a point than a SG, but he's not someone who i'd consider ball-dominant. thibs would probably cream his pants if smart fell to the bulls. i don't think he's exactly the best fit given the team's needs, but he's thibs kind of player. he's tough as nails and the ultimate competitor.

Ditto. I was just going to post about TH Jr. and GRIII.

Re: College Basketball/Draft Prospects Thread
I agree that Robinson III is the best prospect on the team. I just don't think he comes out and he only does if he's a sure lottery pick. I think Hardaway is someone to watch who would fit the roster and, if his game continues to take the step that it didn't last year, someone you can acquire this year.

Hardaway has zero handles and can't shoot at all. He's athetic and needs to improve in those areas a bit to tickle my fancy.

Even though I'm biased, I do think TH Jr. is a good target for us. If he leaves UM after this season he'll probably be a late 1st-rounder.
If GRIII leaves after this year, and he's a lottery pick like you think, we could take him with the Charlotte pick if we get it this year. I think he'll eventually be a very good NBA player.
I like Trey Burke too, but we already drafted our backup PG of the future.
What do you guys think of Mitch McGary's NBA potential going forward? I think he's a guy that will stay at least two years, though he is old for a freshman.

You're right about his handles, but the kid can stroke it, albeit inconsistently. I know his shot fell off the face of the Earth last season, but he's starting to live up to some of the potential he showed as a freshman.
I'm not sure if he's a 2 or a 3 at the NBA level though.
Besides, every player taken at the end of the 1st-round is flawed.
I see him as a James Anderson type player with a higher ceiling.

Re: College Basketball/Draft Prospects Thread
With the VERY limited time I've seen, Big Dog Jr. is the best prospect on that team. It's quite shocking really as he wasn't highly recruited out of HS w/ very underwhelming offers and then all of a sudden he shoots up the recruiting rankings from a near bottom of the top 100 list to a top 20 player.
I haven't seen McGary enough to really say but I think Hardaway could be a bottom of the first rounder IF he improves his shooting A LOT. If not, 2nd rounder based on his altheticism and potential (his dad was an amazing shooter).

he's gonna be a 2-3 yr player, maybe 2 because of his age, but i think he could make it as a banger, energy PF/C with a little skill. he gets some comparisons to tyler hansbrough because of how he plays and his hustle game, but i think his game would translate better to the pros because he has better size (good enough to play NBA C).
playing under jon beilein is really gonna help him. beilein's an awesome coach. you can really tell that kids learn the game under him. i hope can keep up his run of high end recruits.

I've watched Shabazz and Cody Zeller play and they both look like they could come in and did ways the help the Bulls.

Unless the Bulls are one of the worst teams in the league, they won't have a shot.
But it is an open draft. In terms of depth, it might be one of the poorest in a long time. There are a ton of projects.

Best pro prospect on MSU's current team: Branden Dawson, Gary Harris, Adrein Payne, or Keith Appling.

yeah, he was a 3 star prospect as late as his junior season then he just blew up. one thing that i noticed from him in HS is that he's athletic, but he doesn't rely on his athleticism. he can think the game and knows how to move to get easy buckets. for a star at the HS, he was very economical with his touches. i love to see that with young players.
which brings up another thing with beilein. not only is he getting good recruits. he's getting recruits who can fit his system and run his stuff. his kids aren't just talented, they can think on their feet. you can see that in his 2013 class as well.
