ESPN 1000's Carmen, Jurko, and Harry show is now just Carmen & Jurko.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm a sports radio addict. I haven't listend to them as much as before but I never felt Harry was very good at his job. He just seemed like the annoying one on the airwaves, always whining and such. Still, he's been there for 15 years so it's worth noting to the forum that he has been fired. Not sure if a replacement is imminent or if the 2-man show is permanent.

I never minded Harry. I think he kept things from getting stale with his off topic ramblings and old man jokes.

I hate to see people lose their jobs but Harry was just way too annoying. The only thing that is disappointing is that Nick Friedell is still employed. If any sports personality/reporter/writer in this city deserved to lose their job -- it was most certainly Friedell.

As for Harry, he fellow co-hosts disliked him (Jurko couldn't stand him) and so did the listeners.

does anyone like friedell? or find him tolerable?

he's a espn.com hire. he grew up in orlando and attended Syracuse. he doesnt have any connects in chicago.

I don't listen to that show a ton but when I do it always seemed like Jurko was about 2 seconds from beating the **** out of Harry.

Harry was an annoying ass. Jurk really hated I thought it was just a skit.

One of waddle of silvy should get fired too,not sure which one it is,but one of them is annoying...Friedel seems like a cool dude,don't always agree with what he says,but he aint that bad.

Tom Waddle is awesome, so if one of them is annoying it's Silvy, but I like them both. Tom Waddle and Carmen Defalco are probably my two favorite ESPN 1000 personalities though I haven't listened regularly since my kids insisted that I play pop music non stop intead of sports radio.

Waddle and Silvy is great. Waddle & DeFalco would be even better. I liked all of Carmen Jurko & Harry. They were great together. And Jurko and Carmen even said they hang out with him, especially Carmen. Any reason why he got fired?

Didn't DeFalco used to do pregame on Bulls games? And yet anytime the afternoon saloon talks NBA I'm reminded why I'm happier when they don't.

I don't get the Silvy hate either. He's a diehard Bulls fan and he's very knowledgeable.

Thank you. To bash Silvy of all of them makes no sense. He's even said he checks in on the RealGM forums, he's definitely the most die hard Bulls guy on that station.

As far as reasons for Harry getting fired, he did get in some legal trouble with marijuana and such a while back

...he did receive a substantial suspension for this as I remember him being off the show for I want to say close to like 60 days.

ESPN 1000 probably just didn't want to retain his contract or something that lead to the firing or dismissal.

I didn't mind Harry. He was actually pretty knowledgeable on sports history. I can see why people thought he was annoying, but he didn't bug me too bad. IMO, Jurko is equally annoying and the entire show needs a makeover since their focus isn't on sports half the time. They'd rather BS about movies and random stuff than sports. If Harry is gone, get rid of Jurko too. He's a babbling idiot.

Its a shame Laurence Holmes is employed by the Score. He's by FAR my favorite Chicago sports radio host and I'd love to see him get a primetime spot.

The other hope would be for ESPN Chicago to bring back the Silvy and Carmen show. That was a very good show.

Everyone on ESPN 1000 sucks. Score's where it's at.

Laurence is also easily my favorite for Bulls talk radio.

Silvi is knowledgeable, a fan, not a homer, and seems like a nice guy to be around. He's very good at his job. I like him a lot. Occasionally Waddle, who I also like, slows down the discussion a bit too much, focusing on minutia, but overall they are pretty damn good IMO.

I liked listening to Harry.

I met Harry at an in-store promotion several years ago. He asked me to play a song then he gave me a Bulls A.M. 1000 t-shirt. Then I loaned that t-shirt to a guy at basketball and told him to wash it and bring it back next week. That was the last I saw of that t-shirt.
