OT: Read Tribune Plus Articles w/o Login [How To]

For those of you that read the Chicago Tribune online, you've probably been annoyed with their "Plus" article policy.

-Login to digitialLite account to read "Plus" articles.
-Only 5 "Plus" articles per 30 days
-Repeatedly having to delete cookies and re-login.

Well I finally found an ad-block filter that allows "Plus" articles without login.
Enter the following address into your browsers adblock filter for unlimited Plus article viewing

*www.tribdss.com/assets/*

My Current browser is Firefox 21.0 & I'm using Ad-Block Plus 2.1.2

I've been reading them by viewing the page source. It's a little annoying to have to do it that way so I'll try this today.

I've been able to read KC's articles at least by clicking the link in his tweets.

I've been able to read the Trib Plus articles on my iPhone by opening the article and then clicking the Reader Button next to the address bar

I've been doing it lately by going to google and doing a search using the article's exact title. Still, thanks for the other method because I couldn't get the delete cookies method to work.

i would scrool down fast and then just press prt scr, one two times and then just complete the whole article in paint!

Thank you! I hated the stupid Trib for making us login to read 90% of their articles. Ridiculous.

Not sure how this gets added? I can't find a way with either IE 10 or Chrome. For example in Chrome I find categories allowing Filter Lists, Add Your Own Filters, Whitelisted Domains, and General. Pasting www.tribdss.com/assets/ in Whitelisted Domains had no effect, but did transfer to Add Your Own Filters list.

Anyway, if there's a how to for dummies it would be very appreciated.

if anyone uses chrome and is interested, i wrote an extension that disables the "digitalplus" overlay. basically, you can visit the site like normal and it just "works"

I had to add the "*" to the front and end to cover all variations
So my filter is this exactly

If any Chrome users on AdBlock 2.6.2 were confused, as I was, you don't add this on under the "Filter List" tab rather you have to go to the "Customize" tab & enter it there.

Maybe everyone else was more knowing of this off the bat but just in case maybe this is helpful.

Another easy way to get around this is temporarily disabling Javascript.

In firefox it's Tools->Options->Content->Uncheck "Enable Javascript"

Exactly how I've been reading them for over a year. Thought it was common knowledge. Just Google the title and then click on the first link in results.
