2014 Draft Prospect Thread

Post#1 » by TheSuzerain » Tue Oct 8, 2013 8:08 pm

Enjoyed this thread last year, so let's get it started again.

Should be an amazing college basketball season with some nice returning talent and this heralded freshman class.

Who you guys got in the Final 4?

Any prospects you covet at the end of the 1st? Or potentially in the early 10s (Bobcat's pick)?

I'm going to the KU-Duke game at the United Center.

Pumped to see Wiggins-Parker match up.

Interested in seeing if Calipari can get Kentucky back on track. They are absolutely loaded. Florida looks really good too in the SEC despite the loss of the great Erik Murphy 8-) No more Big East sucks, but the ACC looks ridiculous now. They could easily produce 3 Final 4 teams. Should be another great season of college hoops.

EDIT: The prospect I'm looking forward to seeing besides Wiggins is Aaron Gordon at Arizona. They should be a Final 4 team as well.

You took it too far with the playoffs. That's not ideal...

Isn't that essentially the only way the Bulls can get the pick this year tho? Playoffs or edge of lottery at the most.

It just has to finish 11 at the lottery.

Of note... Noah Vonleh at IU went from being 6'8 3/4 and 222 in hs to 6'10 240 after a couple months on iu's strength program at cook hall. He is an inside outside threat and once he tightens up his handle should be a lotto pick. Yes I'm a Hoosier and lifelong fan so he is who comes to mind.

I'm not on the wiggins train btw... I've never seen his form and or shot as anything exciting. If u were to combine he and Matt jones then we are talking.

How about Rodney hood? Kid is a real nice all around player with legit nba size and skill. Could be the surprise lotto pick.

Final 4 I'd guess duke... Vcu, Norte dame, and mich st.

Vcu is legit top 10 team btw... Good nba talent there

Lotto

Raps - wigs (fix is in)
Bucks - Aaron Gordon
Suns Parker
Jazz randle
Magic smart

The media always has to ruin a good thing. These high school players get way too much hype.

One day you will look back and laugh that you weren't on the "Wiggins Train".

He has the type of talent and athleticism that screams NBA star.

Good shooting form doesn't make anybody a # 1 pick.

Vonleh has been putting in time on the medieval stretching device at IU.

Wiggins is different though. He has been getting hype since 8th grade.

It's not like putting Nerlens Noel on a cover.

I'm familiar with him, but it's still a tremendous amount of hype to put on a kid.

Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Marcus Smart, & Julius Randle all could of been the #1 Pick last year.

There's theres international players like Dante Exum & Mario Hezonja.

Big guys: Isiah Austin, Mitch McGary, Joel Embiid, Will Cauley, and Adreian Payne.

Harrison twins.

Man, there's a ton of talent. I wouldn't be pissed if the Bobcats landed the 11th pick and it got sent to us.

Marcus Smart is overrated though. Just not talented enough.

We'll see if he has improved.

i wasn't a fan of aaron harrison coming out of high school, but if the improvements that i heard he's made over the offseason are real then he could be a good fit. he's got nice size for a 2. he's solidly built. has deep range and is a fearless shooter. has good balance and plays with effort on defense, but what intrigues me the most about him is that he can handle the ball. he's a good ball-handler with good change of speed, direction, knows how to use his handle to create separation for shots and has the strength to maintain his balance on drives. he's also run the point in a pinch when his brother was out and when playing together they often take turns handling the ball.

what i didn't like about his game was that he was a bit of a chucker. he's a supremely confident shooter and he'll shoot the ball from anywhere at any moment. he didn't quite have jr smith type shot selection in HS, but it was pretty close. iq isn't great but he doesn't appear to be a complete dum dum. also, although he's a good, balanced athlete with an nba build he's not an amazing athlete. his first step and explosiveness off the floor are just ok by nba standards.

Duke,
Kansas
Kentucky
Michigan St. (no seriously, Izzo is due).

Duke is too loaded. They will win it all.

This will not be a good year to be a cinderella.

As for players in the early 10's. I'm hoping Glen Robinson Jr is there, especially if Deng leaves.

Late in the first round, not sure yet.
