Has Schanowski reported a Deng/Okafor trade with PHX?

From the thread, "ESPN: Bulls "determined" to NOT trade Deng":

This was also reported by Schanowski. He said the PHX deal was sitting out there as a possibility because it can't happen until mid-Jan.

-- The only deal that fits these contours would have to include Emeka Okafor, because Okafor was traded to the Suns on October 25 and can't be traded in a package with other players again until Christmas, December 25th.

-- Deng has said he will return to playing (he's not playing now) on Christmas, December 25th. The Suns aren't playing until Dec. 27th.

-- Okafor ($14,487,500) and Deng ($14,275,000) work straight up for each other and are both on expiring deals, so you're looking for roughly equal salary from the other pieces. Anyone have an idea about other potential assets? Archie Goodwin?

-- Phoenix has four first round picks this upcoming draft. Their own; Minnesota's (protected 1-13 in 2014); Washington's (protected 1-12 in 2014); and Indiana's (protected 1-14 in 2014).

So we're basically looking at a deal involving Deng + asset for Okafor + pick(s) + asset.

Okafor?

Uh, I don't think a big man is our biggest issue Pax, we need some shooting FFS.

PHX is actually not that bad this year though....

That's not really a great pick IMO

There aren't a whole lot of options out there sadly, they might bite on this.

A 1st is a 1st, I'd prefer the Lakers but oh well.

Wonder if Nuggets want Lu.

They have a few picks, conditional but a few.

Edit: It seems like PHX has a slew of picks this season:

http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/ ... s/detailed

2014 first round draft pick from Minnesota
Minnesota's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-13 in 2014, 1-12 in 2015 or 1-12 in 2016; if Minnesota has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Phoenix by 2016, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Phoenix [Minnesota-New Orleans-Phoenix, 7/27/2012]

2014 first round draft pick from Washington
Washington's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-12 in 2014, 1-10 in 2015, 1-10 in 2016, 1-10 in 2017, 1-10 in 2018 or 1-10 in 2019 or unprotected in 2020 [Phoenix-Washington, 10/25/2013]

2014 first round draft pick from Indiana
Indiana's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-14 in 2014, 1-14 in 2015, 1-14 in 2016, 1-14 in 2017, 1-14 in 2018 or 1-14 in 2019 or unprotected in 2020 [Indiana-Phoenix, 7/28/2013]

They'll probably get all three.

Suns are playing really well and in the hunt to make the playoffs, you add Deng into the mix you can surely bank on the fact that we won't be getting a lottery pick from the Suns, if it's indeed the Suns pick we'd be getting back.

Bulls don't want to take back more salary so throw in Teague for them.

I would like the MIN pick because we would probably get it next year which is better than 3 picks this year IMO. WAS pick would probably be 18-20 this season. Not a bad pick.

I still think best deal is for Waiters and expirings. Waiters is light years better than what we can get in a pick for next year production.

Because we have not made a deal yet and considering the 15th past etc. I think the Bulls FO does want to keep Deng which IMO is ridiculous!!!!

I wouldn't mind seeing Deng, Dunleavy, Teague get traded to the Suns for Okafor, Goodwin, Smith, and Minny's 1st. The Bobcats pick isn't looking as good as I thought it would be, so trading Deng and getting a better draft pick should be top priority.

I think you can count PHO out on Deng because Sarver won't want to pony up the cash for him to resign him. Especially if Deng gets a big offer from CLE or someone else.

I was listening to the score when he said it Wednesday. Seem like he was just throwing out a hypothetical. He also purposely said the Suns were looking for an All star, which I thought was disingenuous because I think they're looking for a real star, not all star.
