Kevin Love’s people reiterated to the Timberwolves this past week that they had better trade him or else he’ll leave via free agency when his contract is up after next season. With Love looking to exit, there’s your No. 1 reason the T-wolves have not been able to find a head coach to take over for Rick Adelman. Love wants to play for the Lakers but he’s also open to coming to the Knicks

Lakers, no surprise there, Knicks, really? The Knicks suck.

I guess if he did end up going there it would probably persuade Melo to stay, but what have the Knicks got to offer the T-Wolves? Nothing.

I wonder if Love prefers those clubs over us or we're just not in his picture right now as a possible destination.

Considering it's a NY paper, I'm not surprised that the writer threw the Knicks in the mix. Also, not surprised he didn't mention any other team that are likely in the mix. If anything, the only fire that it adds fuel to is Love to LA.

I've been thinking about this a bit, is there any conceivable way we land Love and Melo? It would take an absolute miracle I know, but there is a part of me that desperately wants to believe there is a non-zero chance of this happening.

Derrick's a very good defender, much improved from his first couple seasons. Love and Melo not so much, although Melo has stepped up on occasion when motivated, but definitely not a consistent defender.

A love/Melo/Rose threesome necessitates getting rid of Noah and Taj. Probably Jimmy too, so goodbye great defense.

I kinda think Love and Melo would be redundant too, unless Love abandoned the 3pt line and played mostly in the post...which I don't think is his strength

how r they redundant? get melo and love to stay on the wings, jimmy in the corner, noah down low to grab o boards (i think we would find a way to keep him lol) and rose attacking the lane. spacing at its finest
