KC predicts: Bulls strike out

Post#1 » by fleet » Wed Jun 11, 2014 12:02 am

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ba ... 5762.story

Though I expect the Bulls to be involved in both the Anthony and Love situations, I think it remains most likely they have a summer like 2010, where they miss on their top targets and fill out the roster with depth. Then again, I’ve been wrong often before and I’m saying that mostly out of habit.

I’d be surprised if the Bulls pursue any restricted free agents, including Gordon Hayward. That ties up money in what promises to be a very fluid offseason. If the Bulls fail to land Anthony or Love, I see them trying to fill the bench with depth and solid veterans, players like Shaun Livingston. Any time Gar Forman addressed offseason needs, he always talked about having a “fuller roster.”

This has been the most likely outcome for me from the beginning. Mirotic and the draft picks and Rose.

I agree, unfortunately. I always thought Love and/or Melo were unlikely. There are still plenty of opportunities to get creative...TBD

Hahahahahahaha garpax need to be fired if they strike out again. THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING.

And why do we want Shaun Livingston lol? That doesnt make sense at all. He doesnt shoot the 3, add that onto his injury history. Hes about to get the biggest contract of his career and of course we think he would be a good signing haha

I'm undecided between Melo and striking out. On one hand the Knicks are a mess and he's best served playing for us, on the other hand he loves New York and forced a trade to the Knicks before, I don't know if he can convince himself leaving is the best choice.

GarPax dont know what the word creative means. They just sit on their hands thinking about how good our core players are!

I think Dr. Phil will hypnotize him. He'll stay in NY and I've said that since day 1. Should he? Not a chance.

And Love I always thought was a real outlier.

Wait, i don't think this! Oh you mean THAT KC, yeah, well, what else is new?

He probably is right if he is playing the percentages, but i think we have a better chance at Melo & Love than we ever did with the clowns in Miami.

That was sorted before it even began.

If Boozer is off the roster and we make no major moves that is not striking out that is a game winning grand slam in the bottom of the 9th.

For Love, if Minn moves him, they will take the best offer. The Bulls have mid round picks this off-season, and future years picks, especially it they land Love, should be end of the round types. The Sac pick is very likely, to revert to a 2nd, so Minn would have to be very high on the actually players the Bulls would send. I like Love, over Melo, but it is hard to see what Chicago could offer that would entice Minn, short of including Noah, or Rose.

I think Melo is more likely, but there is always the chance he will opt-in, take the money and re-sign, or pick another spot, no matter what the Bulls can put together. I do not know what probability to put on it, but it has to be less than 50%, my guess 20% - 25% even if they are willing to gut everything, except Noah, and Rose.

Any prediction would have to expect the Bulls do not get one of those guys, even if they pulled out all the stops, but I sure everyone would blame the FO, warranted or not.

if that happens, fire GarPax immediately.

and fire KC Johnson too for bringing us the bad news. Let's kill the messenger just to show we aren't messing around.

the best laid schemes of Gar and Pax/often go awry

But I never really bought into either Melo or Love. But I DO expect this FO to be fairly aggressive this offseason.

And if doesn't happen, fire KC. He's making the front office sound like a couple of turds. I mean, so we miss on the big guys, fine... it happens... but to say GarPax will be chasing Shaun Livingston as some sort of contingency plan makes GarPax sound like complete idiots.
