I'd really like to know what Taj Gibson's value is in terms of a first round draft pick coming back from a team with salary cap space. Sacramento are a perfect fit for him, and they have the #8 pick. I'm not sure they'd do a straight swap, but perhaps Gibson+19 would be enough? We could likely grab Randle with that selection to fill the void at the 4, and he'd be ready to contribute right away in my opinion, as he has NBA level offensive and rebounding skills.

I still don't buy that New York is going to take Boozer and some non-guaranteeds for Melo in a sign-and-trade.

Yeah, I'm not really following all the giddiness after the quoted KC comment. When you read the article its just the same old obvious thing we all knew. That its best for us to try to get him via Boozer, but that its a long shot because NY doesn't get much back. I'm not seeing in the article anything new to suggest why, or that we suddenly have some indication NY will want to take this.

If anything, it could be read as a negative, that the Bulls won't be going the full mile for Melo if the hail mary doesn't work.

Melo has to help bluff that he'll walk and sign with his new team anyways. Whichever. Going to be tricky. I'm of the opinion anyway (today) that Melo might simply be still trying to get Phil's offer up higher using Houston and Chicago. Take less in NY ok. How much less is the rub.
