Other teams are pursuing Afflalo...NOT the Bulls

Once again Gar sits on his butt during a trade period. He fiddled while Corey Brewer was had for peanuts as well as Jeff Green.
Yes, the FO has built a good team but we have a major hole and he has once again refused to adress it. Are we trying to win or just kinda trying to win?

That link doesn't say the Bulls aren't pursuing him.

The Bulls were never going to pursue him. He is an unrestricted free agent after this year is up and with Butler's extension, Chicago won't be able to afford him. Its not like Chicago at all to give up assets for a rental. Its just not their style. Its fine if you disagree with that but when you are bashing them, just have the real situation in mind when you do.

I don't give them the benefit of the doubt anymore. If they want someone, we tend to know nowadays.

OP wrapped it up pretty well IMO. Probably our best opportunity to win it all in years, Getting a one year quality rental doesnt seem bad to me at all.

Is there anything to lose by offering MDJ, Snell, (Bairstow or Moore) and a pick? Even if it's for a rental, I would make that trade without hesitation.

Why won't we get him? He's gettable. We have the pieces. I can't understand why the FO won't do this trade. Does anybody have an explanation here?

Good. Not the Denver wing we should be targeting.

Notice how Jimmy's play has gone down since he's been forced to play more SF. That's why Affalo is a bad fit.

Don't agree, in this situation go for the more offensively gifted option if available.

Jimmy is getting great looks, he's just not hitting his shots.

We don't need to mindlessly pursue offense anymore. This team's issues are much less simple than they used to be.

And let's not forget that we don't make sense as a trade partner for them. About the only asset of equal value we might be willing to give up is Taj and Denver is already three deep at the four with perhaps their best player starting there. Why do people keep harping on getting Afflalo? There's no trade to be made.

Fine with me. I want Wilson Chandler. 6.7 mill contract, team option for next season.

I would b ok with Wilson Chandler, good size and can score and play some defense...we really missed out on getting Corey Brewer from the Pups! Noah and him played together in college too! Even Shumpert a local Chicago kid would have been a great get to help Jimmy...much better than him going to the Cavs to take pressure of Lebron having to cover the best offensive SG or SF on the other team!

Chandler is absolutely the right player to chase. He can shoot, he's terrific in transition, he's a big wide body and he can run very effectively.

Unfortunately, Kirk can't be involved in any trade as he has veto rights, which he'll undoubtedly use, and giving up Dun-Dun would not exactly help in the shooting department.

Taj would have to go, and therein lies the problem. He's too good defensively to not have during a deep playoff run. As much as I like Mirotic, you can't yet trust him defensively for playoff basketball.

Denver isn't looking for a vet player. They are looking for expirings and picks. Look at what they got for Mozgov. It' a fire sale. Bulls could easily offer MDJ, Snelll, Baristow and some sort of pick for Afflalo.
