Rose finally snapped out of his shooting slump and there really isn't anything to cheer about.
12-22 shooting for 32 points and 6 for 9 3 pointers. No one else contributed much offensively while Rose, the PG, hands out 5 assists to go with 3 TOs and Aaron Brooks contributes 2 assists to go with 2 TOs.
I don't know who died but unless Butler has an unacknowledged injury, he is shooting 32% from the field in his last 6 games since missing one game on bereavement leave. He has also averaged just 12.3 SPG in those games compared to 15.3 for the month of December.
I'd say that Rose becoming the dominant shooter again while not fulfilling his role as facilitator combined with Butler taking a back seat in shooting and scoring is NOT a recipe for improving the team.
And, yes, I do understand that both the overall team D as well as Rose's AND even Butlers individual D lately is a significant problem also.
Welcome back Derrick, but it's not going to work.

There is really no particular new discussion points here that can't be put in the post-game thread or Derrick Rose thread. Copy to either place and carry on there please.
