Tyrus is now on the Bulls' former D-league affiliate. Any chance he makes a comeback as a roll player for a contender?

Discuss.

I had no idea he had a cyst in his spine causing all these problems.

I take back what I said about him being mentally lazy like Stro, that's a damn serious medical condition.

I hope he can it make into the NBA now that's resolved.

But the Bulls are probably the last team that needs to take a gamble on another big man without a jump shot.

I'm cheering for the guy. I don't think a team picks him up this season but I could see him getting plenty of preseason training camp invites next season depending on how well he plays in the D-league.

Can TT be a roll player? Absolutely. I hear he's great at rolling on the ground, not to mention spinning and twisting too. Can he be a roleplayer? Probably not.

Not sure what to say about this. Thomas is the signature mistake of the Paxson era.

I wish Tyrus Thomas good health and happiness.

I'd be happy for Tyrus if light bulb truly has turned on and he made his way back to becoming an NBA contributor. The quotes are encouraging. Hopefully he has the health to allow him to achieve his goal.

His shot looks a bit different, doesn't jump nearly as high as he used to. Hard to tell if that's on purpose or not though, I always felt like he jumped way too high on his jumpers.

Tyrus still likes to shoot the jumper :P

I don't know, he still has a live body, and he seems in decent shape. He also seems relatively sluggish.

He looks like he lost a ton of athleticism, and he seems to shoot off balance.

Hopefully he can make some money playing overseas because it doesn't look like he is making an NBA roster.

Posted this yesterday in the Around the NBA thread. I definitely sounds more matured, best of luck to him.

Tyrus needs to totally completely forget about offense and be the best Rodman he can be. That is the ticket back. He doesn't need to be reminding GMs that he was pretty delusional.

yeah but you wouldn't expect him to come back from something that serious with everything back right away. I think the athleticism could come back some as he works back into shape. If not, his already long odds become even longer.

He was such a headache, but i respect him for not giving up and realising he stills has the tools to make something of himself. A lot of guys would have quit a long time ago and accepted it.

Obviously still has hops, as shown on those pair of blocks. Still loves that mid range J. That said, the dude needs to get in the gym and do some Arnold presses. Get some lats, man. Just don't break your arm.

If he gets his head on straight, there is no reason why he can't have a James Johnson like resurgence where he finds himself later in his career and provides value to a team based on hustle, effort and defense. There is a place in this league for Tyrus if he can get it together mentally.

I wish him all the best. It would be a great story if he could make it back.

yeah he still loves shooting those midrange jump shots lol

but i give him props for going to the dleague and trying to work his way back up...most players ego wouldn't allow them to do that...maybe its a sign Tyrus has really maturated

anyway i wish him the best

He looks different. Kinda weird like his face is all shiny... Anyways wish him the best of luck. Kid could have had it all, but threw it all away...

If he's healthy, I could see a team take a flyer on him
