Take a Deep Breath

Windhorst's column from last night basically echoing how it's still bound to be Bulls Cavs when it's all said and done
So what about the Bulls. What are their positive signs?
The team never, ever seems healthy. However, an MRI on Joakim Noah's ankle over the weekend came back clean, and he should be back in the lineup soon. Rookie Doug McDermott was activated Monday for the first time since knee surgery last month. And Mike Dunleavy, whose loss over the last 10 games with an ankle injury has stung the Bulls more than expected, has started running.
Because he is a great coach, Thibodeau is going to figure it out and the Bulls can return to the level they played at last month, when they reeled off 13 wins in 15 games. He'll get his team away from the isolation ball they have settled for offensively recently, something not needed when they usually have three high-quality options on the floor at all times.
The Bulls are going to play better because they are better.
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12197528/nba-why-chicago-bulls-cleveland-cavaliers-favorites-east-finalsAs hard as it is, we just have to weather the storm. I think we'll all end up looking back at this stretch and having a good laugh or two at how cynical we all became and that this team is ultimately gonna be alright! Spreading the positivity!

Interesting analogy with the Rex Ryan thing. Only Rex Ryan's D was never this bad. Thibs is horrible at adjustments, particularly in-game. The same guys kill us every single night over and over again. Definitely not his strong suit.

If so only because the East is horrible. Bulls would be an afterthought in the West now..
I don't agree that it will work out though.

The Bulls are 2-6, shooting 42% from the field. How many games do you win shooting 42%.
Shooting bricks do 2 things. 1) causes fast break points for the other team 2) doesn't allow you to set your defense.
Golden State isn't the best defensive team because of their skill, its because they basically setting their defense on every possession.
To sum up. Put the ball in the hole.

Put the ball in the hole AND find a way to keep Tony Snell off the floor. Both those things are going to happen very soon and the Bulls will be rolling again.

The head-scratching turnovers he commits makes you forget everything good that he's done.

If anything Tony needs to play more, especially if Dunleavy and/or McDermott go down. Or if McDermott sucks when he comes back. He's been pretty decent as of late.

He wasn't good. Or close to being good. I'm not even going to get into the fact that he still can't make a simple entry pass. Beyond that he is a perfect example of a player that works hard, has the skills, and for the life of him cannot figure out how to apply those skills.
Teams are not guarding Tony Snell. They are not even pretending to guard Tony Snell. It's ugly and it's messy when he's out there.
Like last night, I do not care that he passed the ball to Blatt. Good and bad players have that happen to them. Check any blooper reel. However, it's a pattern with Snell. The game is moving way too fast for him, he's guessing out there, trying to cheat in certain areas and overcompensate in others
He was by no metric good last night and hasn't been good at all this season. He's not ready to play in the NBA and he's certainly not ready for starter minutes. I think you'll find once the Bulls are healthy and he's back riding the bench things will get better for the Bulls

if its one thing Snell is good at its entry passes
when i say good im not saying he blew the roof off the place but he played better than he usually does...he knocked down his shots
that pass to blatt was horrible tho
*check my post history im far from a Snell supporter ive been saying hes garbage since last season

Don't fall for this media drivel. It's a slow time in the NBA and they're just trying to create a storyline. Nothing to see here folks. Bulls will get healthy and roll into the Finals.

Just read Smith's article on bulls.com. his suggestions were basically that Thibs needs to change things up. Particularly shift to a faster paced offense and utilize some zone defense. The focus being a more engaged offense (with actual ball movement) will go a long way towards firing up the defence. Going to a zone more frequently will mitigate the exploitation of Gasol on the defensive end more

Snell should have been starting when Dunleavy was first out. By this time, he probably would have been better. I really liked his defense against Kyrie last night.

We are getting a little off topic but I love talking ball like this. To me on entry passes Snell willingly puts himself in no man's land. Flat footed, too far out, and takes every bit of imagination out of the play by not even looking at the rim or pump faking. A triple threat is a tried and true position for a reason.
Try this, don't watch Snell the next game, watch his defender. I think you'll find they don't pay much mind to Snell. I think they know Snell is going to declare his intentions early when he gets the ball and they know they will have time to recover. I also think this is why Snell is open a lot behind the arc and why he's best at just catching and shooting. I love when Snell doesn't hesitate. Doesn't give the defense a chance to get back after ignoring him...Happened last night on the Blatt pass...That was his play. He's got to at least be aware enough to know when it's his turn. He hasn't even gotten that far yet.
And again, Tony is skilled. You can see it in his handles, his stroke from deep. the way he stays low defensively. He knows how to do what the coaches have taught him to do along his basketball journey. But he has a real problem applying those skills to
the game . I know the Bulls have many problems beyond Snell (poor PG defense is one I've heard a lot on this board and it's so true!)but Snell has to be so awkward to play with. The hardest guys to play with are the guys you can't play off of...Like if I'm out there with Snell, I'm wondering what the F he is expecting me to do half the time. Just weird spacing on his drive and kicks, PnR passes to just general spots...Just weird things he does. The timing and reasoning of his basketball moves are lost on me. And I think they are lost on a lot of the Bulls as well. He's not a starter and the Bulls are putting themselves in a hole when they start him.

probably too busy yelling at ppl, rather than focusing on what the problems are and fix them..He has gotten a lil better with that tho believe it or not compared to previous yrs.

Yup overall he has been playing good, and with more time will get better..Last night he had 2 unforced turnovers, one was to blatt which was hilarious, and missing that open 3 to cut it to 9 could have changed the game around.Other than that he did his job.
