We have had JLIII, Watson, Kirk, Nate, Moore, DJ, Brooks play backup PG for us the last few years. How would you rank them?
1. Brooks-Over DJ because I think he will show up in May
2. DJ-awesome run last year, saved our season, along with Noah
3. Nate-easily the most entertaining, but he costs us games too
4. Kirk-He is bad, but not as bad as we think. He does run the offense-he actually plays well with low minutes
5. Watson-he'd be higher if it wasn't for that last pass, but he did make up for it in BRK
6. Moore-not sure if he ever has played PG, but he seems like an undersized 2 guard. A very good 5th guard
7. JLIII-He did have that AWESOME game in Miami, but he was bad
Am I missing any?

Come on, you can't list Kirk as a 'Watson'. Have some damn respect.

I'd go:
Brooks
Nate
DJ
Watson
Lucas
Do think Lucas was huge for us though. Yeah he's pretty awful, but he played his heart out and saved us a few games.

Because I measure both sides of the court:
Watson ( best defender in this group)
DJ ( was the best PG in this lot)
Nate ( Highest Impact in this lot)
Brooks ( Superb 3 poitn ball and incision into the paint)
Lucas (Meh. Except for that one game against Cleveland that he won all by himself.
And, yeah, Kirk doesnt belong in this group.

I have problem ranking the rest, but Nate is a clear cut winner in my case. No one else was able to win us a playoff series almost by himself.

It's a shame Watson gets such a bad rap with Bulls fans because of one play in a series the Bulls were probably going to lose anyway. Watson was a good 3rd guard for this team and has continued to be since leaving Chicago. In fact, he's actually been better since leaving.
1. Nate
2. Augustin
3. Watson
4. Brooks
5. Lucas

1.) Nate - bonus because had the athleticism and strength to handle physical games, i.e. playoffs
2.) Brooks
3.) DJ - downgrade because he was pretty easily bullied in more physical games, which is what the playoffs generally are
4.) Watson
big drop
5.) Moore
6.) Lucas - proof that anyone can score 20 if they put up 30 shots.

Nate
Brooks
DJ
Watson
Lucas
The top 3 are really even, could go either way. They all provided a similar role but all have their own abilities at the same time. Depends on what you need in any given season I guess. Nate gets top marks for his locker room influence/leadership, entertainment, and playoff performance for me.
Watson was serviceable, but wasn't capable of nearly as much, and Lucas was basically a poor mans Nate/Brooks, however he should definitely be remembered for his performance against Miami. Earned his money that day, so respect to him for playing his heart out for us.

I too like to judge both sides of the ball as well as playoff performance.
Nate (played hard on defense and was a stud in the playoffs)
Watson (hit some big shots and was very good defensively. should have started at PG and moved Rose off-ball against Miami)
Brooks/DJ (Don't see separation in what DJ did and what Brooks is doing.)
Moore (doing more in the short time now than Lucas ever did outside of one game)

Kirk doesn't belong in this group. Maybe if you want to rate him purely off his current contact, but even then, if Kirk didn't come into the league as a Bull, I doubt he'd be here now (given more luxuriate deals elsewhere)
Nate
DJ
Brooks
Watson
Moore
Lucas
Brooks and Moore still have time to move on the list. Given more opportunities, I think Moore can contribute - since he's a willing defender, I think he should be in the mix with Kirk and Brooks. Thibodeau really needs to ride the hot hand with those guys.
Brooks is worthless if he isn't hitting shots. He gives up too much on defense. His normal night is probably a wash, but he definitely provides a spark ala Nate and DJ. When the team is in a hole (say double digits), Brooks should be in the game.
DJ provided a lot of what Brooks is giving the Bulls now. A spark offensively and worthless defensively. DJ just did it for a longer period of time (had bigger opportunity though). DJ also fell flat on his face in the Playoffs. Kirk was probably a better offensive player in that one series. Biggest place Brooks can overtake DJ is Playoff performance.
Nate wins purely off Playoff performance. He showed up when it matter most, and he SHOWED up. I honestly wish we still had that energy off the bench. A joy to watch and filled the role to a T.

1. Augustin
2. Robinson
3. Brooks
4. Watson
5. Lucas
Moore has not ranked because he hasn't really played PG here and Kirk has started more games in his 2nd tenure with the Bulls than he has been off the bench.
For me, it's Augustin. I felt he was our most complete midget PG. To me, he was clearly the best 'point' guard. He may not have been as dynamic as Nate and Brooks, but he certainly had no issues scoring. He was also the most controlled, consistent and reliable imo.
It comes down to ones preference. Nate could go absolutely ham, as we witness against BKN in the playoffs, but overall, i take DJ.

For me..Nate, and by a wide margin. It was so painfully easy for Washington to take Augustin out of playoffs. Watson was pretty average (and of course had the infamous pass) when starting against the Sixers. I think Brooks is quicker and more creative around the rim, so I imagine would fare better than either Augustin or Watson if thrust into a starting role, but I can't put him over Nate. JL3 at the bottom.
On paper, it didn't look as if we should have beaten Brooklyn. Once Hinrich and Deng went down, it REALLY didn't look like we should have beaten them. Nate shifted that series and at times completely took over. For any backup guard to do that in the playoffs is pretty incredible.

I have Nate as the clear number 1. The attention he drew was significantly bigger than that of the rest. His impact was (and remains) highly underrated.

Moore isn't even a real Point Guard.

Dj/Nate
Brooks/Watson/Kirk etc.
Torn between DJ and Nate because Nate is stronger and is a better scoring threat, but DJ was a better playmaker and no slouch with isos and hot shooting. Would take either over Brooks.
