If Thibbs is fired mid-season, who should replace him?
One of the assistants? If so, which one? On an interim basis?
What legit candidates are out there to be hired mid season?
Of course, I always say Paxson should coach these guys.

I don't think he should be fired mid season as much as I would love for it to happen but they should wait till end of season and try trading him for a draft pick lala doc rivers

Give me Stacy King and bring in good assistant coaches to help him.
I am not kidding, I think Stacy King (after listening to him on replays) has a very good grasp on things and what they are doing and what should they have done to fix. I usually totally agree with him.

No way you hire a coach Mid Season, one of the assistant coaches would take over I would think

Won't happen, but I assume it would be one of the assistants.
George Karl has long been one of my favorites but he doesn't have the personnel to run his up tempo system on this team.

I heard Hinrich was voted one of the most likely to become a coach.
How about him?

Re: If Thibbs is fired mid-season, who should replace him?
It's way too late to fire a coach at this point and do anything but tank, and our record is too good to tank in the EC. We'll end up just treadmilling. Even when Skiles was fired it was in December, and the team couldn't pull itself off the cliff.
At this point you might as well ride it out, get eliminated in the 1st round, and look forwards to next season.
In other words, just another Bulls season.

Thibs has been exposed!!
I've never really posted anything before, but I haven't missed a Bulls game this season and I read the forums daily. Thibs is getting out coached and his weakness are being exposed on a nightly basis. I would like to hear everyone's views on Thibs coaching. Here's some of mine...
Thibs is a terrible rotational and in-game adjustment coach. He's too stubborn and sticks to his pre-determined game plan regardless of the flow of the game! Snell has been consistently improving and starting to have a positive impact on the games, but registers a DNP? There's a void at SF, we need spacing/3pt shooting, but Mcdermott gets no burn? If Pop was coaching this team Dougie, Mirotic, and even Snell would be far more developed and extremely effective right now. Pop understands its essential to develop young guys with a good level of potential during the regular season. The value of having your reserves ready and confident during the playoffs will be invaluable. Thibs is not coaching if he plays Kirk over 15 mins a game.
If Thibs were to make proper in-game reads this team could mitigate the majority of its issues. Offensive philosophy is extremely flawed with Jo facilitating or initiating the offense at the top of the key. Guys have little to no movement at all. Too much standing around and not enough pnr! The game vs the Spurs was the best offensive movement I've seen from this Bulls team. Thibs was on to something coaching wise vs the Spurs, but has now returned to his old ways. Thibs needs to get our bigs setting solid screens on the pnr and it should only be ran with Pau, Taj or Niko period. Running it with Jo is useless as he cant shoot or finish consistently around the rim. Drose need to dribble off the screens with conviction and purpose! Turn the corner get going down hill, keep your dribble probe court, or kick back to "shooting" big. Drose needs to study guards who run pnr at high levels they don't jump pass they keep their dribble alive, split screens, find open shots for themselves or teammates via direct passes.
Thibs needs to coach these guys regardless if they're ego's or them getting upset or not! Jo needs to come off the bench Taj needs to start. Pau needs to sit when he takes bad angles when running the ICE pnr defense. Drose needs to be told to chill on the 3's, or pull him when he's chucking too much. As a scoring PG you need to get to the line at an above average rate. His efficiency has taken a hit largely due to his inability to draw fouls. You can't take 33 shots and only shoot 4 FT's. Unless your last name is Curry or Thompson, you will likely end up with inefficient numbers. If drose gets to the line at a consistent rate and cuts back on 3's he will be closer to his former self. He needs to watch film on how the most effective guys draw fouls in this league! He needs to follow that up by talking ur points to the refs during timeouts and ending quarters.
If Thibs doesn't improve his coaching weaknesses he will be looking for a job this summer. Mainly because the FO is looking for a reason to let him go. Thibs needs to bring his A game every night.

You don't get a new coach in the middle of a funk. You put that coach in a horrible situation, and he'll always have that fog following him.
You get him during the off season when everything's cooled down a bit, and players have time to get away from the toxic situation, and breathe.
A new coach at this point in the season could never rally the troops, or have his fair shake at running this team.

Re: If Thibbs is fired mid-season, who should replace him?
yeah the best course of action would be stay put with thibs for now
come off season ship him to the team of his choice for a first round pick (Memphis?)
then hire whoever you are gonna hire (you already know who has my vote)

Another 30 minute game for Kirk and I have no problem canning Tibbs . I understood keeping kirk in there at first but now that we look like dog **** why not go down with McDermott or Snell. At least losing with them in the lineup gets them playing time. I've never been so sick of watching an nba player try to play this game. Sorry coach, I'm sick of watching your terrible lineups and I'm sick of your unwillingness to play rookies. Bogans starting over Korver was just as dumb, but winning cured that...we are losing now and I'm done watching Tom not try something different.

This is a great post and I totally agree with everything,it's like after the meeting the team had, then the game against Spurs it seemed like Thibs made adjustments he even played Nazr in the FIRST QUARTER it was great, then BAM next game and until now he is right back to the same old things that continues to just bring this team down,a long with the players you mentioned in your 1st paragraph...its frustrating to watch and it seems like only a few people get it
Once again great post you should start posting more....*Cheers*

Think why he might run it with Jo is he is such a non threat, his man will just blow up any PnR we run with someone else.
While with him running it we hope he can get a open roll in the lane to at least pass off, or have time to set up his ugly tornado.
But yeah, whatever the thought, its not working.
