Lineup going forward

Post#1 » by mattyj912 » Wed Feb 25, 2015 1:58 pm

What do you think the lineup will be going forward? Not what you think it should be, but what you think thibs will do. I would guess with rose being out, he is going to go to more trusted players. Meaning instead of seeing more McDermott or niko were actually going to see less of them. I would think something like this

Hinrich 26/Brooks 22
Butler 38/Snell 10
Dunleavey 30/Snell 18
Pau 12/Taj 25/Niko 11
Noah 30/Pau 18

McDermott and Moore will get spot minutes. Im positive thibs will start hinrich and honestly I think you have to. You cant have AB, Dunleavey and Pau out there at the same time starting. We would give up 30 every first quarter.

Id like to see Brooks/Butler/Snell/Pau/Noah. Still wont be great defensively, but you can hide AB with Butler and Snell out there and Noah can defend the paint like he did last year.

Either way I don't think we are much worse off without Rose. Our potential goes down, but rose was giving us average point guard play anyways. He was terribly inefficient also. If his shots go to Butler, Pau, Snell, and Taj, we should have a more efficient offense. We just need ball handling and jimmy/snell/AB to step up as playmakers.

Not sure how your offense is to be more efficient without the only guy that can break down a defense and find open shooters. Things will be much harder.

Will be:

Hinrich/Brooks
Butler/Snell
Dunleavy/Snell
Gasol/Gibson/Mirotic
Noah/Gibson

Should be:

Brooks/Hinrich
Butler/Snell
Dunleavy/Snell
Gibson/Mirotic
Noah/Gasol

More changes should be made than simply "next man up". The Bulls have long had success with a scoring point guard on this team and good defense. Make that our starting unit by inersting Brooks in the the starting lineup. Brooks and Gasol would be a disaster though defensivley so put in Gibson and you have our best defensive front court.

Gasol captains the second unit. We run the offense through him and provide space around him with Hinrich-Snell-Butler/Dunleavy-Mirotic.

Any chance we go big with Jimmy at the point?

PG. Jimmy
SG. Tony
SF. Niko/Dunleavy
PF. Jo
C. Pau

These guys would be amazing fits in Tex's triangle offense. The idea is having big guards & interchangeable positions.

The truth of the matter is, so does Brooks.

Kyrie, Wall, Lowry all will be feasting with Brooks or Kirk. I think the Bulls have to play both of them separately though and never together. It is unnecessary with Jimmy, Snell as the secondary ball handlers to have two PG types on the court at the same time.

I am not sure both of them survive playing 48 minutes or being the main PGs. They will be in foul trouble practically every game.
