Which back up PG should we bring for the next season?

While Kirk might use his player's option, which is highly likely, he will not play much. We might be able to resign brooks since his disadvantage seem to be very clear like Nate. Since we have more offensive talents than last seasons, I would like to add a PG who can run a team like DJ with lesser scoring but better defense. Can you guys think about anyone? Or, if you have other thoughts in mind, let's discuss. I don't think picking a PG in the late first round draft is a good idea (well, Teague was a bad idea but I have only one sample for that).

Is Shaun Livingston going to be a FA over the summer? He would be good to have around.

Lets stay in the moment for a while.

We have a small chance of doing something historic THIS season. Lets ride that out first and see where it takes us.

Knight was nearly an all-star this year. I don't think he'll be a backup.

I like the idea of Calderon who we could get for basically free and not commit long-term.

Livingston could be affordable.. Calderon I'm not sure.. He might be the same as Kirk... even next year. Is there anyone who is trying to redeem himself like DJ? :) Patrick Beverly would be perfect but should be expensive. Wow Cannan is a young player. I didn't know that. I thought he's quite old... Maybe he's also affordable.

Yeah, he need to redeem himself... But his defense sucks... and he is a shoot first guard...

You're describing the exact type that thrives in Chicago.

Well true.. Nate and Brooks.. but DJ was a great passer here... But well I see your point. Lin will thrive here.. But I'm not sure he will come cheap... But I am getting sick of having more one-way player....

While undoubtedly true, Lin's missing one element that's been present in back-ups: Speed and overall high-quality athleticism. Nate was a freak, D.J. was quick as a cat and the same goes for Brooks. Lin, quite frankly, isn't. Plus, another trait similar between the three aforementioned back-ups is sublime confidence. Lin is pretty fragile mentally.

Best case scenario we find somebody in middle-late 1st round who can be starting PG for the future.

We are probably going to draft PG or C. Depends which better talent there is left.

You think Jeremy Lin is only going to get the minimum?

That's all we're going to pay.

I'd say the Bulls will hope that Aaron Brooks comes back on a minimum deal again.

Lin would actually be the type Thibs would like as back up. He has a quick trigger, makes smart decisions and a decent shooter. But Lin is more valuable than he plays since he has a large audience so he could command more $$ than his stats say. I bet he gets $8m-10m/yr deal somewhere else so not likely

I think Mo Williams if cheap would be good. Current makes $3.9m but is a Unrestricted free agent this offseason. If he doesnt find a team maybe can get him cheap on a 1 year deal.

Its also possible Brooks could be back since I dont think hes having a standout season, but this is his time to shine so we will see if he plays himself out of the Bulls range in the next month
