So, Wikipedia says that Jack Haley died today. I can't find the news source anywhere else, but supposedly Phil Jackson has also tweeted as such.
With that said, thanks for everything, Jack. May the wind be always at your back.

No one is reporting anything about this. Google Jack Haley and click news and not a single story comes up. Not necessarily saying its not true, but id be skeptical to believe it until someone else reports it. People do twitter death hoax crap all the time, maybe phil just saw something someone else posted and believed it.
That said if true, RIP

not that it constitutes much more evidence, but wikipedia has been updated as well:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Haley_%28basketball%29does seem odd that phil jackson would be the one to make the news public

That page also says he was in the Love in an Elevator video. I had no idea.
Anyway, RIP to the greatest hype man in NBA history. He always seemed like a nice guy and a great teammate.

From the Orange County Register:
Former NBA player Jack Haley, who attended Huntington Beach High and Golden West College and played at UCLA, died Monday, according to the Orange County Coroner Divison of the Orange County Sheriff's website. He was 51.
The coroner's site said Haley died at Los Alamitos Medical Center on Monday afternoon and that there were no signs of foul play.
His family said in a statement released by the Lakers that an autopsy was performed and found heart disease as the cause of death.
"It is with great sadness that the Haley family announces the passing of our beloved father, son, and brother," Haley's family said in the statement. "Jack was honored and grateful for the opportunity to play in the NBA for nine years, alongside world-class athletes with the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, and New Jersey Nets."
Haley was part of the Chicago Bulls’ NBA championship team that went 72-10 in the 1995-96 regular season.
He played eight years in the league, including one season with the Lakers, in 1991-92.
"Jack was a hard worker and always very professional," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said in a statement. "He was proud to wear the Lakers uniform, and he was always a credit to our organization and the Lakers family.
"Our condolences go out to his family and friends at this time."
News of Haley's death started to spread when his former coach and teammate, Phil Jackson and Scottie Pippen, mentioned him on Twitter.

This seems to be the year of the obit for former players. Sad to hear. I'll be 49 on the 30th and just trying to stay in the best shape possible.

Jack Haley is the classic example of a great locker room, chemistry guy. He was very important in helping Rodman be comfortable coming here to the Bulls. 51 is too young. R.I.P. Jack Haley.

The OG Human Victory Cigar; the Scalabrine of the 95/96 Bulls. Condolences to his family...
Former Bulls forward Jack Haley, best known for his close friendship with Hall of Fame teammate Dennis Rodman, died Tuesday at 51.
An autopsy revealed Haley died as a result of heart disease, according to a statement released by his family.
“Jack was always a supportive and enthusiastic teammate,” Bulls executive John Paxson said in an email. “He didn’t play a lot of game minutes but practiced hard and always helped our team get better in those situations. Our condolences to his family.”

Great read. Sam always brings great insight into the 80's and 90's Bulls teams. Teams need guys like Jack Haley and Nazr, although Nazr was obviously more accomplished and talented than Haley. But Haley was a great teammate and sounds like a cool guy. He will be missed.
