Thought people might be interested in learning a little about the guy, some speculate might be the coach if the 2015-16 Chicago Bulls.

Hoiberg, like a lot of smart NBA coaches, understands that not all shots are created equal. He's effectively eliminated the long two-point shot from his team's arsenal, and instead emphasizes attacking defenses at the rim and from behind the three-point line.

Now, I don't know if he is just regurgitating the general speculation that is out there, or if he knows something specific. But it was interesting that he said it that way.

Oh, I know.. it's inevitable at this point. He's likely to be the Bulls coach next year. I just think it sucks and it really takes away from this current season, which still has a long way to go. Frankly, it's made me pretty apathetic to the Bulls of 2014-15. With all the turmoil they aren't winning dick and then we start over again with a rookie NBA coach and a still questionable roster, when it comes to health. Nothing but bad luck and bad knees of his stars, derailed Thibs.. He's not perfect, but nobody is and he's better than anybody we are getting to replace him at this point in time.

Uuuh yeah a coach that does not like the long 2s. Is not like our current coach invented the defense that forces teams to shoot long 2s. He obviously knows nothing about analytics and that's why no team copies that defense.... oh wait.

I'd like to see articles about new young front office people, hopefuly analytics oriented. I mean the ones we have were always .500 or less until Thibs. So maybe we should think about new people there.

Wonder if they blame Scott Brooks for Ibaka's surgery?

He played 45 and 40 minute in 2 out of 3 games just prior to getting injured.

Scott Brooks is overall bad coach. They dont even need to blame him for that. He is already bad enough.

Hoiberg is a very good coach. It seems like most of his detractors throw shade because of their infatuation with Thibodeau or just a general lack of knowledge of what he's doing at Iowa State.

Whether it's with the Bulls or someone else, he'll get his shot to coach in the NBA. Given that our coach and general manager are at odds, I'd prefer he's coaching the Bulls next season.

Just to clarify... I am not a detractor of Hoiberg.. I just don't want the FO to replace Thibs with him and think it would be foolish. Just an opinion.

Yep. And he's running a pro style offense with 0 college stars.

Can't wait to see him running that pro style system with NBA stars and superstar.

Or you could watch an Iowa State game and see how much NBA style stuff he runs without top flight NBA prospects. As good as a coaching prospect Thibs was in 2010, you could argue Hoiberg is at least an equal prospect.

I have my issues with Thibs, but I think he's a great coach and I am still holding out hope that he and the Bulls FO can put their differences aside.

Look, you guys are confusing X's and O's with what coaching in the NBA is all about. Thibs was a proven NBA coach already with a ring in which he was a HUGE part of on his finger.

He continued to be proven as a head coach winning more games than any other coach, and even having playoff success the only time he had his star... until the ACL and other injuries which he was in NO WAY responsible for.

I'd prefer that our coach and FO realize that what is in everyone's best interests is that they work it out, and we keep Thibs. But if that isn't to happen, then Hoiberg would be #1 on my backup list. He's done a fantastic job at Iowa State and I think the younger parts of our roster blend well with his style.

Bird in the hand, I'd rather just keep the excellent coach we have. But Hoiberg is legitimate.
