These list type articles are always interesting regardless if one agrees with them or not.
Interestingly, they have Rose rated as the 11th best PG in the league. To me, i'm surprised that they have him that high and above Dragic & Bledsoe at a minimum.
More importantly, my guy Chris Paul is rated 1st, which gives me even more pleasure in creating this thread.

It looks like they're only focusing on starting PGs as well, otherwise some at the bottom of this list wouldn't be top 30 worthy.
Thoughts on the list?
What is your top 10-15?
Where does Rose rank as per the Bulls board? Use the poll.

It's so hard to compare Rose to his peers because his level has been in a constant state of flux. What is his 'post-injuries level'? It's really hard to say that because of all the factors going on when he has played.
The link didn't post properly so I can't check the full list, but it sounds about fair, but regardless, I would have no clue how to feel about his rank.
DRose feels like an enigma to me at this point, on any given day I feel like he *can* destroy his matchup, whether that's Mr. #1 CP3, or anybody. Obviously he's not MVP Rose anymore so he's not going to destroy guys night in and night out, otherwise he'd be the #1 guy himself, but it's hard to know how many of his stinkers earlier on this season can be attributed to the knee not being 100%.
It's also a transition period in terms of his role, he's had some bad games chucking the 3, looking sluggish, etc. If, once he comes back this time, he finds his role in the offense effectively, I think he definitely deserves to scrape into the Top 10.
Never liked thinking about these lists since the ACL though. He's just on his own course right now, tough to compare him to his peers.

Yeah I don't think it is an unfair ranking right now at all. Ultimately would like to see that around one like it used to be but currently can't argue against it.

Hard to rank him right now. We've watched him destroy Kyrie head to head
http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400579092, destroy Wall
http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400578711, outplay Steph Curry
http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400578971this season.
When he's healthy, he makes Chris Paul look like he's on the B team. Not taking anything away from CP3, he's the best pure distributor/pace setter in the game and fun to watch. However, Derrick, when dialed in, even at his peak this season, can simply overpower him. He can do the same thing to guys like Steph Curry.
We've also seen him look like dog vomit at times this year..
Which Derrick Rose?
Healthy 100%? At his best.. He is #1. He beats up all the other PG's in the NBA head to head, so I'd take him.
HealthyNot healthy and afraid? he is not in the top 10.
to add to this post... Will he ever be healthy again? I think he will. In a D Wade (from 2007-2013) like manner. He will never play whole seasons again, but he will be a top 5 player again. I really believe he needed this removal of the damaged meniscus. He's going to have periods of pain free/relatively low pain where he will be able to dominate again. He will also have times of pain and soreness and have to sit his share. But with this removal he will be able to reach levels that few here still expect. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, so we can make a run THIS year. Still possible but so many things have to fall into place.

CP3 didn't even go to the conference final. I always think he is getting too much hype. He is good but not the greatest. Well for rose, even for this year, i think he was better than dragic and bledsoe.
BTW, Rubio at 12th?

At his best his still top 3. With his inconsistency though ranking him 11 is actually quite generous. Westbrook and Wall are the only ones I think is his equal at his best. He can out play soft guys Curry and Irving.

thats pretty generous
i probably wouldn't even rank him...he hasn't played enough

1st? 21st? OK, let's split the difference, we'll say 11th.
We'll know in a couple of years. Until then, sure, this seems as good of a guess as any.

Rose is a rorschach test for Bulls fans. What do you see? A guy who, when healthy, is still en elite force capable of MVP level play? A guy who was 'knocking the rust off' on his way back to being an All Star level player? A guy with diminished athleticism unable to adjust his game who morphed into the Josh Smith of point guards? There's ample evidence to support any of those options and more.

Only active PG with an MVP award.

The funny thing about Derrick is I'd say the one rank I know he's not is 11. When Derrick's healthy and motivated he's a top 5 PG that's literally at the same level as the elite guys (Curry, Westbrook, Paul) in this league and above what a guy like Lillard or Wall. When Derrick isn't healthy or focusing on his three point shot for 40-50% of his offense then Derrick turns into a 20-25 PG. 11 seems like a hedge against those two outcomes.

he's certainly been way into the bottom half of starting PGs this season. 11 seems generous

Tough list to make, man.
Mike Conley's a good player, but I don't think he should be #5. I think Irving and Wall are even at 4-5, and then there's really a bunch of good PGs. Rose can be right in there with Irving and Wall as part of the Tier 2 PGs this season even, and get to Tier 1 eventually.
Tier 2 and Tier 3 are really very close, but this is how I would roughly place them:
Tier 1:
Paul
Curry
Westbrook
Tier 2:
Irving
Wall
Rose
Tier 3:
Lillard
Teague
Parker
Conley
Lowry
Bledsoe
Dragic
Lawson
Tier 4:
Rubio
Holliday
Kemba

I agree. Impossible to rate. But objectively based on actual play and production this year and recent years, 11th is WAAYYYYYYY too high.

And mostly didn't play the last two.
11th is a joke really. Dantown nailed it also. If you want to base it on potential and (very) past, he's much higher than 11th. Based on actual production and performance, no way he's 11th.
I will say this about ESPN's "rankings", they are consistent in their value.

Paul is best statistically because he's doing what a PG is supposed to do-
Run the floor and not turn the ball over.
But if you're building a dream team and have to pick one guy, today, who do you build with?
Paul too old now, I'd have a hard time selecting between Westbrook, Curry or Irving.
Curry is the best shooter
Westbrook is the best at getting to the FT stripe
but Irving is just 22 and turns the ball over the least and has a great shot.
and LOL Utah not using Burke as a PG, he'd prob be close to top 10.....

I don't really have a problem with the ranking. He's a tough guy to rank. When he's fresh and has something to get up for, he can be the best in the league. But he also had a bunch of not so great games this year.
I will say he'd be the guy out of the top 10 that could easily be in the top 5.
Don't have a big issue with the list. It's not exactly how I'd have mine, but it's not a bad list.

Is this based on total everything or actual PG play?
If it's overall, he's somewhere probably in the 5-10 range if totally healthy. If it's in terms of PG play, he's probably closer to the 15-20 range.
