Not sure if this deserved it's on thread, but I see a lot of people asking what he would bring to our team and why him instead of Tibs etc.

Nice plays. I liked the Mayor when he was in the Bulls. He was a fun guy to watch on a dreadful team

I'd put money its going to be Hoiberg, look at the list of head coaches the Bulls had since 1986 under Reinsdorf

Bulls hired coaches who were first time head coaches. I know they wanted D'Antoni but lost him to the Knicks but will they break the trend with Gentry or continue the trend with Hoiberg. I bet it goes Hoiberg since Gar/Paxson knows him and can likely control him a bit.

Bears do this too but broke the trend this year with John Fox

Yeah Noah and Gasol cant jump. I hope they draft a defensive center who can slam some lobs, thats our biggest need imo

Derrick is bad at tossing lobs too...

Fred Hoiberg's staff does an excellent job recruiting and Fred comes in and hammers it home with his I know NBA GMs pitch. And he's screwed over Kevin before on the Royce White situation.

Fred can draw up a nice play offensively. He's definitely not a defensive minded coach. He's also a poor in game manager (because he was hired to coach a D1 team with no coaching experience). He's lost a lot of close games that Tim Floyd would not have lost.

He'd be a horrible fit for the Bulls, because his strengths don't match the club. You don't need him to recruit. He sucks at managing end of games. His team has always had let downs and doesn't always play hard like you'd get from a Tom Izzo.

Fred Hoiberg already has his perfect job. If he leaves, for the first time, life is going to kick his butt.

Skiles had previous head coaching experience. Look at the list of other teams going back six or seven coaches. I bet you would find them giving either an elite NBA assistant or college head coach their first head coaching job in the league. Nobody says anything about that because its normal. The Bulls do it though and its somehow controversial?

That "wing weave" action already looks a lot like the East-West ball movement we already do that didn't work at all. At the end of it, they still needed someone to break a guy down 1on1 or take him into the post. Already the same ishh we've been doing.

Not that it invalidates your general point, but Scott Skiles was the head coach of the Suns before he coached the Bulls.

Bulls fans don't know what they want and spew a lot of stuff.

Also Skiles had previous coaching experience in NBA so list is kind of wrong. Also let's not forget how bad Tim was as a HC despite college success.

Our East-West ball movement didn't work because it was stagnant. There was no off ball movement or misdirection.

Our offense had no flow. It was predictable and it wasn't intricate.
