Who would even trade for him knowing this situation? Maybe someone's willing to trade for him and waive him for a bad contract and a pick maybe?

the fact that only $3M is guaranteed and team could shed salary based on the full $14.5M in a trade.... so, it's possible a team will trade for him and just waive him themselves. Not likely to happen, but possible.

Ryan Anderson / Luol Deng / Solomon Hill / Joakim Noah + two 1st rounders for Rondo?

A team looking to clear cap space

Rondo>Teodosic. Rondo probably would've been cheaper than we will end up signing the latter for as well. Don't need either though.

The Bulls previously had some trade discussions involving Rondo due to his partially guaranteed contract.

This makes it sound like they are just looking to clear the 3 mill, so I'm not sure if they are willing to take on salary past this year even with an asset attached.

So likely they would have to give a team something to take his contract?

We'll probably give up a 1st rounder just to dump the $3M. Didn't we give up a 1st when we got rid of Hinrich the 2nd time?

Just kidding.. kind of. knowing this FO, who knows what is possible when it comes to giving away/selling picks. Hell, we threw one in on the OKC deal just for the hell of it. Sold our 2nd, gave away another three 2nds and two 1sts when we traded up for McD. Threw in 16 when Thibs fleeced us... Hey, they're just draft picks, what does a team that is rebuilding need those for anyway?

We don't know that for sure. We do know that Rondo sucks. Milos is a question mark. He can't be worse than Rondo. At least he can shoot the ball. Seems to be a gifted passer too. They both suck at D. Rondo doesn't even try.

Honestly, I hope we don't sign Milos and just go with the kids to drive the tank. Cut Rondo, Buy out Wade, Get rid of Rolo.

Deng + LAL Future 1st for Rondo

Out of those four, I'd like Deng to provide that veteran leadership. I wouldn't mind Joakim either.

This season will be ugly... I can see us averaging a 20 pts loss margin! It'll be so embarassing à la Kornel David era.

No thanks on Noah.

I don't see the Bulls bring in another point guard. All those minutes will go to Dunn, Grant and Payne.

Deng works out like everyday and such a professional. I follow his trainer and his own IG. He stays prepared.

There is no bigger fan and admirer of Deng around here than me. And I would love for him to retire a Bull. But he has 2 or possibly 3 guaranteed years on his deal I think. That's just too many for his current level of play.

I wouldn't have minded Rondo staying for another year, but waiving him (barring a logical trade arising which is unlikely) is the right move.

Game 2 of the Celtics series Rondo is likely better. He was an animal.

Unfortunately, the remainder of Rondo was only slightly better than what I could have done, as a sub 6 foot mid 30s fella who never played any competitive basketball. He was horrible.

If he was attached to Ingram or some pick I thought would be top 10 I'd take Deng back. The bonus would be I would be happy to have a player I like back on the team. I was always a passenger on the Luol fan club train you engineered.

I don't mind his contract on our team at all. We are going to have to add salary regardless for the next few years, with so many players still on rookie contracts and more rookie contracts likely added to that the next 2-3 seasons.

We are likely going to need to be in the high lottery for the next two seasons at the minimum, and if that's the intention it means the money will be going to young players on rookie contracts, and perhaps LaVine's extension and a few other veterans on bigger but short term contracts.

I don't think Deng's contract would be a hindrance with our current path at all, and like yourself, he would be the perfect role model, leader and example setter we need on this team. A player like him would be perfect on a young team.

VOTE DENG.
