I would have to believe that if someone gets traded it’s either Rolo, Holiday, Grant. I would look at Wizards, Knicks, Cavs as potential destinations.

Isn't the rule that a player acquired in a trade, can only be traded on his own?
Hard to see anyone is the players we received bring even a 2nd rounder in return.
I think what's more likely is that of Pax moves Rolo, Holiday, or Grant, he may choose to keep guys line Alen and Nelson to fill out the roster.

Allen is already gone isn’t he? We already know he can’t stay in Chicago too long.

Let's hope so. I love 'meer as a vet back up but would give him the choice in the event he wants to contend. Tony Allen is one of my all time faves but if his wellbeing still under threat we gotta let him go...

Asik to to NYC for Noah and Knicks first rounder. Bulls would also get a nice big trade exception from the deal as well I believe.
If you think you're not legitimately competing for 2-3 years there's no reason not to make this kind of trade IMO.

I'm not so sure the difference between Noah and Asik is enough to incentivize the Knicks to surrender that pick. Possibly felecio, who runs longer, but is much less of a cap hit

They can, but, they can't aggregate the salaries when doing so.
For example, they could do RoLo ($13.7m) + Nelson ($1.429m) and take back someone making $17.3m (RoLo's salary at 125%), but, they couldn't do RoLo's salary + Nelson's salary at 125% ($18.91m). The trade would simply be broken into two transactions, RoLo for whomever and then Nelson for a TPE.

They just want Noah's contract gone. If anything keeps them from making the deal it's the fact that Asik has another year left on his deal. If he was expiring it sounds like they'd do it in a heartbeat. I think they're worried about keeping KP happy and would like to add another star via free-agency, but are strapped with some bad contracts, Noah's being chief among them.

Noah & Fred didn't work the first time, it's not going to work the second. No chance even if New York was willing to incentivize the deal.

It's not about Noah, it's about the pick. You don't make organizational decisions based on how happy a coach or a player will be. You make the move that's in the best interest of the future outlook of your ballclub, and since we're tanking add a lottery pick is never a bad idea.

You do if it's going to sour the locker room, especially one that is made up predominantly by youth.

Man, Lebron James sure got soured by Larry Hughes. No wonder he turned out to be such a terrible NBA player. Same goes for that Jordan fella, Charles Oakley was such a cancer.
Great players will become great, trash players will be trash, the end.

They've said they're not adding a 1st to dump Noah. Park that idea.

Allen is gone unless GarPax wants him dead. I doubt he even visits Chicago before getting waived.

It depends on which source you want to believe, just in the last 24 hours there have been multiple reports each way - some saying the Knicks would attach their 2018 1st to dump Noah's salary, some saying there's no way they'll include their pick.
I can see the merits in each report, though my guess is they will bite the bullet and buy Jo out.

Thank God that idea is squashed. Don't want Noah anywhere near the Bulls and the Knicks need young talent just like us so they are not giving up a lottery pick to shed salary. It's not like any major free agents are going there either.

Buyout doesn't remove his salary from your books, which is the main reason to get rid of him.

Of course not, but I can see the Knicks waiving Noah this summer, then his remaining salary would be spread out over 5 years (just over $7.5 million on the cap each year).
I don't see any way possible that they can get another team to eat Jo's salary without including their 1st round pick this summer.

The Knicks are going to want to get a win now player back in return for their #1 pick. They need to placate Porzingis who will be a FA after next season.
