Re: Season expectations
How many games will Lavine's low TS% and p00p defense cost us?
How many games will WCJ gain us over Lopez? (Any? I think it's ~5 in a few years but...)
How many games will we win because of Lauri|Dunn|Lavine strides?
Lebron left, but didn't the rest of the east get stronger... how many games will that cost us?
Dunno what to expect on win count. I think we have ZERO chance to win it all, so I'm in favor of doing whatever it takes to improve long term. It's unclear if that means trying to get strong enough for playoffs & experience... or tank.

Re: Season expectations
Low to mid 30's...mostly because the east sucks. So yeah...33-34 wins?
An injury or two could easily shave 15 wins off that.

Re: Season expectations
If we did make the playoffs, that would be a very encouraging sign.
I don't really have any expectations. Just hope to see growth from the guys we're counting on.

Re: Season expectations
Expectations is an odd word. Is it predictions, or what you would tell the team that you expect from them?
I'll go with predictions.
I predict that we will spend an inordinate amount of time discussing whether and to what extent LaVine is ballhogging and playing defense, what Fred is or is not doing about it, and what Fred/Gar/Pax should do about it.
I predict that we will spend an inordinate amount of time discussing the fact that Lauri and Wendell are not getting enough touches.
I predict that Fred will play the vets more than we like, and that we will spend an inordinate amount of time discussing the issue.
In general: an inordinate amount of discussion for a team that, because of chemistry issues and youth, will win about 35 games.

I just want us to stay healthy, and see players play up to their potential. I want to see Carter and Hutch play and develop. And I would love to see Parker, Lavine and Markannan all average 15 +; while Dunn averages like 7 assists per game. And Carter averages like 8 rebounds per game.

Re: Season expectations
Extremely high expectation (hope): I'd like to see a Bull in the all-star game. That means one of Lauri/Lavine/Parker is probably killing expectations.
Hopeful expectation within reason: Bulls challenge for 5th seed, get 6th seed

I think we can definitely win over 45 games. This team will be very good. Most of the issues will be rotations. Stop thinking we donāt have the pieces to compete in the East.

Re: Season expectations
I believe Dunn, Markkanen and Carter will be very good and all will improve.
The whole key to this season is Lavine.
Good results if Lavine becomes a 3pt shooter who attacks a scrambling defense and scores or drives and kicks to the big men or open shooters. Lavine also tries on D and becomes a neutral defender. Again neutral not good not bad, which would be better then he has been.
Bad results if Lavine thinks he is Kobe and wants to be the guy with the most attempts and jacks up shots, with no defense.
Hopefully Fred makes ball movement and spacing the focal point and instells this early. If so the Bulls can play 5 out and do some surprising damage

Re: Season expectations
Once Carter takes over starting at the "5" we will have a pretty good offensive starting 5. We don't even need Dunn to improve from the arc. If he can just hit some 6 - 10 foot floaters after penetration and a few mid range jumpers now and then. Every starter will need to be defended. I'm hoping Hoiberg can get through to Lavine that we don't need hero ball from him. Take what the defense gives us. Both Lauri and Wendell will have to accounted for when they lurk around the corners or up high. There should be good spacing for Lavine and Parker. Four of our starters will be a threat from deep. Lots of options. We can even go small and play Parker at the "4", Lauri or Portis at the "5" and bring in Valentine (or Blakeney). I have no doubt that our starting five can average 65-70 points a game consistently, and we have a decent bench. I will be disappointed if we win fewer than 38 games. If we played in the West I'd say maybe 25 if we're lucky. It's progress. And the team will be entertaining to watch with our youth and athleticism.

Re: Season expectations
I actually think this āBaby Bulls 2.0ā team will get close to .500.
The east is weak. Orlando lacks a pg. Atlanta is kind of a mess. Nets: Hornets, Pistons, Knicks and Heat all have talent, but are kind of disfunctional. Post Lebron Cavs, too.
If the Bulls donāt implode, but instead buy into team ball, this would be a team with a good chunk of talent and little pressure on them. I could see them surprising folks.

I expect us to lose some games by 30, against Houston and Golden State and the Celtics. But on games when Markannan, Lavine and parker are all hot, we will win. I predict 32 wins. No Playoffs, and get the number 8 pick in the lottery.

Re: Season expectations
Expect to know once and for all if Dunn is good enough to be the starting PG, only good enough to be a backup, or worse.
Lauri needs to hit 18 ppg/36 on good efficiency (57% TS+).
Expect Lavine to at least hit his MIN stats, if that doesn't happen this season then its very worrying.
FO needs to get some value out of either Portis or RoLo.
This season I'm not as focused on wins, because the team won't be bad enough to get a meaningful shot at high lottery, and at this point I don't think there is significant difference made between drafting 12th versus 18th. I see a lot of optimistic projections, but I don't think this team has the horses that a lot of posters are expecting them to have in this race.

37 wins, 20 ppg from Lauri, Rolo re-signs with super hometown discount for bench role.

I expect to be entertained more than I was last year.
I watch every game, so a team that grows over the course of the year and learns how to play well together will be key for me. 35+ wins would be good too, of course.

Re: Season expectations
Season expectations... I expect to see some growing pains, especially early on. These kids have to learn how to play together and trust each other in that if they give up the ball, they will get it back if they are open on the floor where they are supposed to be. It took Golden State time to get comfortable with this concept as well.
I think Jabari Parker is going to be solid in this offense; he can handle the ball better than most give him credit for and he has no issues initiating the break after grabbing a rebound.
I believe this team makes the playoffs... 7th seed most likely.

I have no idea. My gut tells me 30-35 wins but I can make a case for 25-45.

35 wins. Anyone who thinks differently didn't watch last year or has never watched Fred coach =).
