Was surprised not to see Red Larrivee posts this season, he was so active in all the terrible seasons.

Hey all, we had Ronnie Brewer Jr on the podcast. Give it a listen if you guys get a chance. I'm biased, but I think it turned out to be pretty good.

Great - I'll give it a listen. I always loved that dude, even with his really ugly jumper. Always seemed like a nice person though, it's a shame that he eventually flamed out of the league, but if he just worked on that jumper to moderate levels, he could have of had a longer tenure in the NBA.

Ronnie Brewer was, IMO, an all-NBA caliber defender with the Bulls.

I believe he suffered an arm injury as a child that prevented him from developing a normal shooting form.

Yep, that's correct. But you'd think if it was an issue early on his life, he would have adapted and found a way to make it work. More challenging of course, but there have been some really good shooters with horrendous forms, it's just all about repetition and just making it work for you - Reggie Miller and Peja Stojaković comes to mind.

He played a pretty full career, so it wasn't a total loss, but his best years where his first 3 seasons, and he progressively got worse.

He had an hamstring injury that hurt him. Hurt his athleticism, and he was really athletic. That's really why he was never the same after those Jazz years, but he was still good with the Bulls.

Never understood why we didn’t just start Korver or Brewer over Bogans. It’s not like you have up much offense at all playing Brewer, but he was unquestionably the better defender being bigger and longer…and better.

I will give this a listen, if it’s anything like his podcast interview with Bulls Central last year, it’s always a little melancholy to hear first hand how close these squads were and how much they loved guys like DRose and Noah.

I think he led the NBA in Defensive BPM his first year.

Nice! I'll add it to the list of DL's. Love the former player interviews.....

He was fun for a couple of seasons. Odd how he ended up retiring as a Bull.
Lowry, PJ Tucker from his draft class still out there playing.

It made sense to me. Bogans only played like 15-20 mpg and could actually stretch the floor a bit to make people pay for packing the lane against Rose, which Brewer simply couldn't do. Korver couldn't guard a SG to save his life and was even benched in the playoffs by Thibbs when it mattered. Bogans was the least player of the 3, and played the least minutes. He was just the most O/D balanced at the 2 position.
