I'll say Niko didn't ruin anything.

I'd disagree, he won the team a lot of games. #7 pick in a tank year isn't great

That doesn't matter. They got the 2nd best rookie(so far) from this draft class.

He's also the indirect reason that Lauri got to start last year, which is also nice.

You think he's better than Doncic? Sounds like homer talk

Who do you think I have first?

It's Doncic then WCJ.

Third. I really dislike his lack of defense, doubt he'll contribute to many wins in his career if it doesn't improve. He'll always have better numbers than WCJ offensively but I want my center to play defense. Ayton=DeMarcus Cousins 2.0.

Trae Young is impressive also, he's been struggling with his shot but his passing skills/vision looks really good. I can see him leading the NBA in assist a few times in his career.

Honestly, I believe if we had pick 3-5 Garpax would have taken Bagley, JJJ, or Trae Young, whoever was available. Hitting the lottery and moving up into the top 3 might have made our draft significantly worse. Picking WCJ at #7 looks like the best scenario after drafting one of Doncic or Ayton, and even that has become arguable with WCJ's early play. Worst case scenario I think was us hitting the #2 pick (of which we had identical odds) as SAC and picking bagley like they did. Bagley is nowhere near the 2 way player that is Wendell Carter Jr right now. JJJ looks like hes going to be a good nba player as well, he and Wendell could end up being the 2 best rookies from this class.

He's got a long way to go to be DMC, I think Cousin's defense is significantly better, and DMC is an excellent playmaker from the C position. Ayton really can't pass that well at this stage, he will improve I think with a few years of play.

He's struggling from everywhere. His 3pt% through three games was 45%. Through his last 13 games its 28%.

I knew Zach got off to a start he wouldn't be able to sustain, but he has really dropped of a cliff. What is his PER the last 13 games? It has to be something like 12. We really need to get Lauri and Dunn back and let Lavine's offense come more naturally. If Zach can't be an efficient scorer then he's not that good of a player.

Zach shouldn't be judged while the team is in the state it is right now. He's getting doubled all the time and we don't have the players to take advantage of that. Half our guys were playing G league or college basketball last season. I believe Zach's numbers will improve when Dunn and Markkanen are back and defenses cannot take a "stop Lavine and never mind the rest" approach.

Zach is missing open shots too though. But I agree it’s pretty tough to draw conclusions when the other team’s defensive game plan every night is to overload him.

He’s not MJ or Kobe. But he’s getting that type of attention.

Regression was inevitable, especially when you're doing so much on offense.

LaVine was pretty efficient his first 8 games. In his last 8, he's only had 1 game higher than 50% TS.

First 8: 63.2 TS%
Last 8: 46.2 TS%

Regression to what though? That's the question.

I think what is key is his 3pt shooting. He's shooting well below career averages as a Bull. I think there's reason to be optimistic that will come back - I can't recall too many players who lose their shooting ability.

I don't think Zach strong or long enough to ever be a super efficient high volume finisher, so he needs to score efficiently beyond the arc.

I would like to see him play off the ball more. He's not a good enough playmaker to be dominating the ball on every position, and he could benefit from some open looks coming off screens off the ball.

I would also like to see the Bulls start Shaq. He's not very good offensively but at least he's a threat to take it to the basket. Other than Zach, the Bulls have no one in the starting lineup who forces the defense to collapse. They should be running the offense through WCJ more to allow Zach to get off the ball more but for whatever reason they're not.

No idea. We'll see how he plays when players return. It's a long season and he'll probably have more rough patches.

He's still the best thing on this team so far. Let's hope Lauri gets in there and gives Zach some room to work with.
