It certainly wouldn't surprise me if things went that way, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't either. It annoys fans to some degree and dilutes the team brand. The team brand has to decide that what it loses is less than the money it gains. The company sponsoring has to think that it benefits enough to pay money to do this.
I wouldn't be shocked if in 10 years the Bulls changed their name to the Chicago United Airlines and the jersey was a picture of a plane with a 100 sub sponsors on it, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the trend died because there isn't enough value for either side.
