There are some players on this team that I really want to see play together.

I think that I've become a fan. :D

A solid trio of Ulis, Alkins, Gates to watch.

Still intrigued by Alkins talents. He has the tools to become a versatile perimeter defender which of course is valuable in today's NBA

Hopefully they all do well, but I think it'll be hard to draw much from the performances without watching the games. I'm particularly intrigued with Alkins though and I hope he shows enough to get his chance during the season with the regular squad.

Still have to remind myself that we only got Alkins because he was injured last year.

He is an exactly the kind of guard that we could use right now with so many front court players out.

He's not afraid to go in the paint and fight for rebounds.

I was surprised to see him go undrafted. When I seen him sign with Toronto's Summer League team I was thinking to myself how the Bulls didn't try to buy a pick to get Alkins who Imo was a late first/early second round 'talent'. I feel like we got lucky to get him and i'm excited to see how he develops.

I'm hoping Alkins can supplant Blakeney (assuming Holiday is already supplanted by the FO).

Hard to see him get an opportunity this year. Not unless the FO starts tanking later in the season by giving rest days to guys.

Should this thread become the 18'-19' WCB season thread?

Duke got their Zion, WCB got Rawle. Move out of the way. It's nice to see that the Bulls have a nice farm system.

God daaaaamn I love Rawle's game. Those two dunks almost got me out of my sofa, but then I remembered it's just the G-League.

Anyway, this guy needs and deserves a chance with the Bulls pretty soon. Talk about a motor. I hope the first thing he does is dunk on Jabari's head in practice.

Put the brakes on!
People got excited about Blakeney in the G-League too.

Given effort level, or lack there of, by so many guys currently on the Bulls roster, Rawle absolutely deserves a shot.

He’s an intense player that will play tough regardless of score or opponent. I’d much rather see Rawle on the court than Blakeney.

I never got excited about G-League Blakeney. He was obviously a gunner with no conscience who had a bright green light in a bad league.

Rawle's actually a fully rounded player whose motor never stops running.

Kaiser Gates starting to get it together.

Looks like his 3P shot has been changed so that he has a quicker release.

This could be the beginning of a turnaround in his season.

His release looks like it’s improved, but he has the same shot as Hutch. Like Hutch, he gathers the ball waist high and has a pause before going into the motion. He needs to clean that up to speed up the shot. But, the improved release is a good sign that he’s working on his shot.

I think that it was mixed, but before he dropped the below his waist before shooting.

To me it looked like when he got the pass up around his shoulders, then he shot it better.

Windy City Bulls 2018-2019 season.

Blakeney is a scorer 1st and 2nd. when his shot isn't falling he is useless.

Alkins on the other hand is showing a 2 way game that is valuable in today's game. As a prospect I prefer Alkins over Blakeney even though Blakeney has the talents to light up the score board in a hurry.

I think Gates always had a pretty quick release, looks the same to me. I just don't see NBA potential, he's a niche stretch 4 that has nothing else in his offensive bag, isn't an elite shooter, doesn't have shot versatility, and doesn't really do anything else at a plus level on the floor.

As for Alkins, he deserves the call up, if not now, at some point this season. Not to take Blakeney's shot making for granted, but Alkins is a much more well rounded prospect. Shooting the ball well, can handle, drive, defend, etc.

One thing worth considering beyond the highlights we see is that there were a couple of notes for improvement for him - he can get lost off-ball on defense and become unfocused. His handle needs refining. Doesn't have great touch around the rim. So he's got a few things to work on.

But what he is is athletic, multi-positional, he's shooting well, slashing to the rim, and a plus on defense. I will take the trade-off of Blakeney's go-to scoring, especially given our team makeup, for a guy who can provide multiple qualities.
