Wow the Lakers are only 2.5 games back from the top seed in the west and they play the Suns tomorrow.

Man, the Sixers are thin. They beat Memphis today, good win for them, but they're doing everything with 4 players. Even though benches are less important in the playoffs than in the regular season, the #5 through #7 guys still matter a lot. They just don't have those players. Wilson Chandler and Amir Johnson are 31 and play like they're 35. Maybe T.J. McConnell is their 5th best player? But I don't know, it's just not good.

DAL won today, and without Doncic.

Landry Shamet seems like a decent player. They could use another big (because as you point out Amir and Chandler look like they're done. Muscala is..eh).

I think they need Portis.

And Parker.

And Lopez.

Ideally they'd get another PF (Melo, anyone? : D ), but the four guys they have are playing really well. Even Redick at 34 is averaging career-high points.

Potential playoff match ups between Toronto, Milwaukee, Philly and Boston are looking pretty juicy, though.

Crazy how bad the WC is right now when all the talk coming into the season was how bad the East was going to be with Lebron leaving. Outside of GS, who will eventually win the title and get their house in order, the next 2-3 best teams, if not 4, best teams in the NBA would be coming out of the EC.

Not bad for a 21 year old, but not starter material for a contender. The Sixers started Shamet some games, because they had to start five guys, then last game he got benched and went 1/1/1 in 10 minutes. They started Muscala instead, but when the game ended he wasn't on the court, McConnell was instead.

All three things are true (no joke).

What about Portis for Fultz & their number #1? Portis would be an important player for them this season, while the Bulls get to tinker with Fultz, he probably washes out but no loss if he does, and they get a draft pick. Yes they lose Portis for the rest of the year but if they were planning on letting him walk this summer -- which would probably be the right call -- then now's the time to deal him.

I think Portis and Lopez will help them. Nobody needs Parker.

I'd do that deal but I doubt Philly does. My guess is they value Fultz more than that.

You don't draft a player #1 overall and go through all the effort of working with him just to end up with Portis. On top of that also giving up a first round pick.

I doubt they’d toss in their #1, even if it’s projected to be a mid to late first, for a rental/audition of Portis. But I’d do the deal without it. Sure Fultz looks like he may be broken, but I’d rather take a gamble on him than let Portis walk or worse, over pay him in the offseason.

Lakers schedule has been soooooooo easy. I think the schedule makers did that on purpose so that they get off to a good start and make the playoffs.

Lol and they had some luck yesterday. Now only 1.5 games back. If league offices get involved (like calling west games ‘lebron’ condusive’ ) then im liking their chances in floating around the top of the conference.

So glad we did not draft Trae Young. For the season, he's now shooting 37% overall, 25% on 3's. Tonight he had 20 pts but took 20 shots (in 25 min) to get those, and had 7 tov's to 3 assists.

Clippers look like they are for real, esp. in a weaker WC this year. Now 16-7 with a win over NO tonight. NO, by the way, after a hot start are now below .500. Randle started in place of Niko, who was hurt, and put up 37/8/4 on 15-24 shooting. He had been playing well off the bench. Maybe he's finally figuring out his game?

The West isn't weaker. The West is less top heavy, but it's much deeper. Basically all the teams but the Suns are in contention for the playoffs and hovering around .500 (or close to it.
Why so serious?
