Bulls don't make many second round picks, they dump second rounders like crazy, but their hit rate on second round picks is much higher than the NBA average when they make them.

Agreed, he's definitely a C in the NBA today.

I really hope that Gafford pans out, because he seemingly has all the attributes to be a contributor right out of the gate, with his physical attributes and how hard he plays. Let's just hope he has the mental fortitude to continue to work on his game.

I'd be happy if he improves enough to get 15 min per game. Will need to be able to contest shots without fouling a ton. Rebound. Set decent picks. Make occasional free throws.

Not sure if this has been posted, but good read. This kid seems to have a solid mindset when it comes to his approach to the game.

I really can't wait to see him in action, because I seem to be more enamoured over Gafford than White at this point.

He probably just has a little more shine on him due to being the newest toy in the box. White is about 3 hours older! And he's much older in terms of fan watching /scouting. Most of us were expecting the pick to be White for a while now, therefore have discussed him plenty and watched several videos, etc. Gafford is a guy that we just started researching and seeing his strengths 3 nights ago. Only ones that really knew about him for more than 72 hours were our draft gurus

His strengths should translate to the NBA fairly quickly. He's not going to be asked to learn how to shoot 3's or facilitate an offense. He just has to go out there and run around to try and get rebounds and block shots while dunking everything in sight.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is more productive right out of the gate than White.

I’m hoping he becomes a bigger version of Taj Gibson

I guess this season's draft side-story will be the development and effectiveness of Gafford versus Bol.
I think Gafford was a lot safer pick. Foot injuries with Bigs are deadly, and do we really need yet another
big on the 3-point line? I'll take the floor-running, rim-runner, who doesn't have a foot injury and didn't miss
the season. Bol has unique skill-set for a Big, but he also has some big concerns. At his current weight, I'd say that
there are NBA guards who can muscle him and back him down.

He's also very "high-waisted", a problem defensively since he can't "get low"and it is also a problem in handling, there types get stripped when they put the ball on the floor. He's not such an elite defender that he can recover when beaten and block everything.

Lastly, there are motor and character issues with Bol that Gafford doesn't bring. I stand behind the Gafford pick, he will be a great role player on a team that desperately needs what he brings, rim protection, rebounds, and a guy you can put at the "dunker's spot" and he will finish. He needs to improve his offensive game, shooting, and especially his FT%, all things that player development will be focusing on, I'm sure.

Oh and one other thing I noticed in watching some of the ARK games, they didn't run ANY plays for the guy, none. He got what got on his own, rebounds, put-backs, and lobs (he catches anything and everything thrown in his vicinity). He's also a quick jumper, you can see it on 2nd and 3rd rebounds of his own misses. Kid's on the trampoline, Moses Malone style.

It should be interesting.

He looks like a light-skinned Rondo in that photo.

I was hoping that Bruno Fernando would drop to the Bulls, but the more I see/read about Gafford the more I like the pick.

Impressive vid. I don't know much about him but judging by that... Hes pretty mobile if that end to end run was an indication. He has good vert and a very quick jumper. The touch on the tip ins was real nice. Hes defensive minded and got on the floor a time or two. And he has decent footwork.

Big question, as with all bigs these days is, can he defend the pick and roll. Unless he's elite offensively he's gonna need to be able to switch if he wants much time on the court.
