The Heat started their rebuild with way less to work with asset and cap-wise than we did and, as of now, it looks like they’re way ahead of where we are. We had identical 41-41 records in 16-17 but during their bottoming out their worst year was 18-19 with 39 wins so they also had less draft capital. Shows what a good FO and good coaching can do.

Worse draft capital, probably worse trade assets, and in cap hell. Yet, they STILL got creative and found a way to get Jimmy in free agency and come up with a S&T worth phillys while

This sure is the big issue with GarPax. Every GM/Front Office makes mistakes with respect to draft picks, talent evaluation, free agency, contracts etc... But, the good ones recover from them. Paxson was whining about Rose's injury for 5/6 years after his injury. Miami lost Bosh to injury and LeBron to free agency. The Bulls would have shut down their franchise for the next 2 decades if something like that had happened to them.

The year they lost Lebron, they traded for Dragic, who was still at the time an all-star caliber player, and got Hassan Whiteside off the scrap heap. Also, when people mention D-mitch, Collins, Allen, Kuzma being better picks than Lauri despite being picked later in that draft, don't forget about Bam. He was late lottery too in that draft and would absolutely go ahead of Markk in a redraft

It is when the thread is started immediately after Herro has a great game against the Bulls. If he had been 0 for 6 with -30 there would have been no thread.

You're both right.

In 121 minutes! There should have been some minimum-minutes list on that screen. But if Denzel keeps playing as he has this season, he'll look alright even after more minutes. Not top 15 of course, but he has been producing.

jimmy had a bad shooting night but chipped in 20/18/10. he's effectively serving as their point forward w/ dragic coming off the bench. interesting strategy that has been effective so far. guess the young guys are receptive to jimmy's brand of leadership. looking like the perfect situation for him. also having career best averages in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks

They really have something special going on over there in Miami, Herro, Robinson, Nunn, Adebayo great young players with good vets Butler, Dragić, Johnson etc. But playoffs will be different beast, we will see.

two .500 teams

team 1: dumped their best player in his prime and tanked for 2 years
team 2: chose to compete at a middling level for those 2 years ("nba hell"), then brought in the same player that the first team dumped

team 1 is now 9-17, team 2 is 18-6
the donald, always unpopular, did worse in EVERY state in 2020. and by a greater margin in red states! 50 independently-run elections, none of them rigged

Watched the Clippers v Raptors game and still feel the Clippers need to add an athletic shot blocking/rebounding big. If you took McGee off the Lakers and put him on the Clippers I’d have them as slight favourites, right now I still have the dirty Lakers as favourites unless AD or Lebron get injured

Also has the fish been fined this year for flopping? If not then the people in charge of handing out the fines should be fined. In this game alone I found 3 plays Lowry could easily be fined for excessive flopping, I hate watching him play

Ugh, can't luck out and get a top 2 or 3 pick. It's always #7.

Double dude. That was something nasty. And never say today's game is soft. If a center bodied Mike up like that on a dunk, and then smacked his arm as the shot was going down, that would have been a +1 six days per week, and a +2 on Sundays.

Iman Shumpert waived by the Nets.

He would be a good wing depth guy considering we're completely depleted at the 3.

Shump is shooting 33% from the field this year, after shooting 35% last year. He is well and truly finished.

It would be nice if we got Steph Curry at 7 but we picking whatever. ....We dont move up or move down for generational talent when one is available in draft regardless where we pick. That's the problem. We are happy taking just whatever and hope we "luck in".

Derrick Rose isnt walking through this door.

Team 2 has also developed more players in that time, that could possibly turn into a trade and add to said prime player just signed.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

i think that's more true of knicks fans. barrett has been awful so far. and last year they passed over the bridges bros and SGA for kevin knox, who has also been bad. awful ntilikina pick the year before that. year before that they didn't have a pick because they gave it to denver in the melo trade. it turned into jamal murray

maybe they should bring phil jackson back. even isiah couldn't do worse
