I guess they have legitimate hope for him, or they just don't understand sunk costs.

I guess it makes sense that if Orlando was going to take the chance on trading for him that they'd have to give him two years, but that's a pricey option for a guy who is questionable about whether he belongs in the league.

Even crappy #1 picks get their options picked up. I'm not surprised. He's gonna get chances for years.

I also think people still see talent and figure it can't get worse.

It doesn't have to get worse, he's no where remotely worth his contract now.

Anthony Bennett had his 4th year option declined, so it isn't entirely unheard of.

Fair but he's the only 1.

Sure, it's pretty rare for a #1 pick to be out of the league quality so short into his career. Fultz is probably not yet at out of the league bad, but he's surely feels like "not worth 12m a year" bad right now which is what that 4th year option was for.

I guess if you have some hope then maybe it's worth the gamble just to have his bird rights.

Doug, I think his previous work doesn't warrant the salary but we don't know what he's done this summer. Maybe he's been working out with the Magic and his jumper looks better. If that's the case, I can see why they picked up his option.

Who knows. I think they just doubled down on taking the chance. They know they won't get their value this year, and if they don't pick up his option lose bird rights and if he breaks out then they just lost a player. I haven't looked at the Magic cap situation, it may also simply be that their cap situation makes it amenable for them to pay the extra money and not worry about it next season.

This season is a terrible FA class, so saving money for it may not really have been a meaningful priority for them (or anyone else).

I would think they've had to have seen something in workouts or the summer. 12 million is not terrible for a 6th man and possible DJ replacement. They don't have any max guys either.

Bennett sucked ass without the benefit of an injury excuse. Fultz at least has that.

Just like Fowles before her (and Dupree years ago), EDD wanted out. Fowles and EDD on the same court, probably would have brought the Sky a championship.

I really dislike Fowles and EDD for that at least EDD left cause she wanted be closer to her sister.

Both pulled Jimmy Bulter and sat out the season. Those two could have made WNBA pop off if they stayed in Chicago. Or even if Candace Parker came home and teamed up with them.

Oh well ***** WNBA

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

It looks like some of the other teams have started their media day.

Do we have a date for when the Bulls will be holding theirs?

Looks like training camp for the Bulls is startin 1st October, so perhaps they'll hold media day late next week.
Why so serious?

She wanted out, and requested to be traded closer to her hometown.

Also, I don't think any team has a media day planned before the 27th.

Yeah EDD has a special needs sister, so if she wanted to be closer I think most ppl have to respect that.

So what are you guys doing with streaming this year? Most doing league pass? I had LP couple years back but the quality was awful and bandwidth was atrocious to be honest. At times had the pixilation of a toaster. NBA streams via reddit was my fallback when I wasn't using the Slingbox in Chicago. Probably wont be using the Slingbox going forward so thinking of giving LP another shot.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes
