Top 100 NBA Players Today

Post#1 » by Am2626 » Fri Jul 26, 2019 6:02 pm

This article was published right before the start of the NBA season last year. It only lists 3 current Bulls players in the top 100. Otto Porter Jr. at 49, Lauri at 74 and Wendell Carter Jr. at 100. Obviously in the last year LaVine should easily be On this list and Lauri and Wendell Carter should be higher on this list. I think the top 30 players listed are accurate though minus Chris Paul and in my opinion the Bulls need to get one of these guys in order to be a championship contender. Which top 30 player is the most realistic for the Bulls to get in the next 3-4 years? It can be via free agency or trade.

I think having 4 starters in the Top 100 gets you into the playoffs. Is Lavine a Top 100 player? I doubt it - if you take his defense into consideration.

But, I have a feeling players like Thad Young are not getting enough attention in rankings like these as they are not stat heavy.

I think we have 6 players in the Top 150 players of the NBA. I am adding Lavine, Thad and Zach to the players already in that list.

If having 4 starters in the top 100 gets you in the playoffs, then I should expect the Bulls to be in the playoffs. They had 3 a year ago and LaVine, who wasn't in the top 100 was something like 16th in ppg at 23.7.

This said, I don't expect the Bulls to make the playoffs this season...they'll come close though.

I can’t yet rank WCJ as a better player than LaVine. Lauri either. Both have higher ceilings for sure but I don’t agree with the list being potential vs actual impact.

Which too 30? My answer is going to be Beal. I keep saying it just because I think that is the Bulks target. No evidence but my gut. Obviously they would love Giannis but that is simply impossible to think it is realistic as we stand today.

OK just looked at that. Zach isn’t in it but Harrison Barnes @ 68. I call BS. He deserves to be above Barnes. Also KCP makes the list and no Zach. I don’t even really like Zach and I don’t play a homer type fan but those guys are silly.

Giannis is better than AD right now and no way Kawhi is lower than Paul George. PG13 had an outlier year likely his career year. Don’t like the list.

This was last year after Zach was coming off acl tear and putting up poor numbers

Gotcha. Still no way Harrison Barnes ranks better. No way A WCJ who had never played an NBA game yet ranks better either.

I think the guy that posts his top 100 players does it every October so will be interesting to see what it will look like for the upcoming year. Have to say I like the pictures and how you can drill down to see the stats. It’s hard to really tell how accurate the list is because what we remember is what we saw last.

Great numbers doesnt guarantee good player.
Why is RW not MVP anymore despite avging triple doubles for few seasons?
Defense is half of the game and Lavine is in the bottom 99%.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!

Yes agreed but why is Harden considered a top 5-10 player when he doesn’t play any defense? His defense isn’t any better than LaVine’s.

What do you think of Devin Booker? Zach is the only player I see get treated like a leper by the media for poor defense. Not saying he doesn't deserve the critcism, but I there is some serious bias going on. I think that changes after this upcoming season, but it still irks me right now.

Wait, what? Wendell Carter Jr. was a top 100 player before he stepped on the court, as the #7 draft pick? Now I've heard it all.

I suppose I should lock this post, because this list is just bar talk, but this being the off-season and there's not much else to discuss, sure.Go ahead and discuss. Maybe this guy will put Coby White on this year's list.

Bad list. Top 100 means they could be top 3-4 players on a team. Too many guys based on potential or over the hill. You have to be kidding me that these guys should at all be on the list...

Wiggins, Crowder, KCP, Batum, Aminu, Ariza, GHill, Anunoby, Morris1, Morris2, Rozier. Never mind I have to stop, it's pointless. Just noticed Iguodala and PJTucker over Doncic.

Wow Zach has gone to criminally underrated. There's no way he's not easily a top 100 player.

I'm not talking about the list maker. I'm referring to the posters on this board who think that even after this year citing his defense.
