I actually think Rodgers will end up in Dallas. Yeah, I know him and McCarthy don't get along but Jerry Jones loves those *BIG* names like Rodgers and probably will pursue him if he becomes available. IMO, it's one of the reasons why Dallas is so hesitant about extended Dak. If this scenario plays out then Dak will become available, and I would not mind the Bears pursing Dak.

I think the top teams are
1. 49ers
2. Bears
3. Raiders

given that his issues in dallas are strictly about money, i'm guessing that the favorites for his services are whoever pays him the most money. and being QB for the cowboys comes with a financial premium that goes beyond salary (including no state income tax)

i still find it hard to believe that jerry will let him walk. he's a prideful and loyal guy (note how hard it was for him to let go of the golden ginger as coach) and he drafted dak

It won't stop Jerry.

and Mack a knee

nagy lied to the press about quinn's injury previously, saying that he was instead dealing with a personal issue and slowly working his way into things

though obviously of lesser concern, montgomery, patterson and wims limited w/ groin, knee and achilles issues as well. when montgomery got injured 2 weeks ago it was reported that he could miss up to the first 2 weeks of the season

in related news, montgomery says he gave up jerky, cheese and doughnuts after last season: "i was a lot slower than i know i was capable of...i didn't really care. i was a rookie"

we were led to believe Nagy was an honest broker of information when he was hired. The guy is turning into Lovie Smith on us. If only he could coach as good as Lovie.

Montgomery = Slow guy in the backfield that thought he could eat jerky, cheese, and donuts, but didn't really care.

I kniw a lot of non “public” details about Nagy. I am not a big fan. Granted if he turns it around and gets the Bears to perform like they did his 1st year then who really cares, it is about him doing his job not the other stuff. His early success got into his head, hopefully last year humbled him, I think he has the ability still to be a good HC.

So.......I am not the only one who is very "meh" about the season? Cool.

I won't root for the Bears to lose but I do know that having a 4-6 win season probably means the end of Nagy/Pace.

From my understanding, he can be cut for basically nothing after the second year so it’s no big issue. I believe Fuller expires at the same time and Trevathan can be cut with little penalty as well. We maybe be looking to retool the defense after next season. Or use money on a potentially cut ARod

If Quinn isn't a big-time performer, it's a huge problem...I don't care about his contract. It's nice that Trevathan and Fuller have favorable contracts..they need to play like studs. I don't care much about 2021.

$9M dead after 2 years, which is bad but not "off the table" bad. The problem I have is given his age and style of play (he's a speed rusher), you expect his best years to be early with a drop off later in the contract. The fact that he's already missing games is a giant red flag, but hopefully he can get back soon ad play at a high level.

I don't know if its a giant red flag that he misses a single game, especially in this weird off season, though that's really just semantics.
Obviously, it's not off to a good start. An ankle typically wouldn't scare me so much, but I'm making some assumptions that if this was a high ankle sprain (or something expected to be long term) that we'd see more info.

Either way, I have low hopes for the Bears with or without Quinn this year.

I think the Bears success will be determined by how good their defense can be. If it can return to the form they had 2 years ago, they could win 10-11 games. It's a given the offense will be putrid I think. They made no big upgrades, other than possibly at TE. But the defense could be stellar- they've made some nice additions, and with Hicks back and healthy, they could be a top 5 defense, which can win you a lot of games.

We don't know what the situation with money will look like because of COVID.

offense looks good, running the ball well and Mitch is making nice throws.

Didn't like the Coby White pick. Preferred Rui. Now go out and make me look stupid Coby!

No real explosion on this offense, a QB who throws ducks, and wide receivers that don’t feel like finishing their routes. Oh boy, lots of rust and a short offseason showing.

7/17 and a QB rating of 62. When can we see Foles?

Nagy deciding to be aggressive on his own 10 with a minute left and one timeout. When can we get rid of this guy?

Nagy should have switched to Foles at half.

We will lose a winnable game now.

They need to give Foles a chance to see what he can do in a game situation. We've seen enough of Mitch to know what he can (can't) do.
