PG: That was way too difficult

Post#1 » by johnnyvann840 » Sat Nov 2, 2019 2:34 am

Finally a win. But, goodness they made that way too difficult against a really depleted Piston team. They tried hard to give it away at the end but the Pistons just didn't want to take it.

I'll take any win at this point. Maybe this will boost morale and give them some confidence.

Nice to see OPJ have a really strong game. Great to see D Rose ballin in the UC. He almost singlehandedly beat us tonight but he just didn't have enough help.

There was a point at the end of the first half where the Bulls made like six turnovers out of eight plays. That is just a killer.

Finally closed a game. All these close games at the end will (should) help the team in the long term. Continue to learn to play together. Eventually close them out.

Wendell is legit. Will be in the convo for top 5-10 big in the league in a couple years. Won’t crack top 5 with embiid towns Davis jokic kristaps? Etc but can be that next tier with gobert

WCJ really put that game away with some strong D and hard nosed play. Wendell is definitely a keeper. Smart player. Strong player under pressure too.

Good games all around especially from Wendell and Otto.

As soon as they figured out they should go to the rim in the last 2 mins the game got much simpler.

Way to save that timeout Jimbo.

I will take it. At this point I don't care how they come, and right now I don't want to think about the big picture, at all. W is better than a L. And no, if or not Bulls should be tanking is part of the big picture and I am not going to think about it. La la laa laa

It's late on this side of the Atlantic. Good night

Otto is back!

WCJ is our MVP.

Zach isn't a closer. It's always dribble, dribble, bad decision late in the 4th. I'm glad they went with something different at the end there, or this would've been another meltdown.

Yeah can't run the offense. Problem is we still don't have a starting PG. Sato is not good at all. Gotta hope White grows up soon.

For some reason Will Perdue doesn't annoy me anymore.

They needed this, no matter how depleted the Pistons were, they needed the confidence boost. They didn't look like trash this time.
They're still doubling way too much, everytime Kornett tried to double Rose....face palm

Just scary that everything seemed to go right for the Bulls and they still almost gave that game away. No way should it have even been close. Otto with a strong game. They got all the calls and some home cooking. Should have been a 15-20 pt win. But, as has been said we'll take any win right now. A win is a win is a win.

Thoughts:

Kornet is the worst defender on the team, which seems impossible to imagine with Zach on the team. And he isn’t elite enough from deep to offset that. He shouldn’t be playing, period.

Zach can’t be the primary ball handler in the 4th. It’s turnover after turnover. Running him through picks similar to what JJ Reddick gets should be his function in the 4th, and he can ball handle after as the secondary ball handler.

Wendell, Coby, and Otto are good 2 way players. Bulls need more of these.

The 3 point guard lineup puts the Bulls at such a disadvantage defensively and rebounding. Trade one of Archi or Dunn, enough is enough. Get a big role playing wing.

Bad Boylen: Thinking Kornet would ever work on Drummond. Good Boylen: His leash on Kornet was much shorter in the 2nd half, and Kornet barely played.

Lauri needs to attack more, his pick and pop 3 pointer is broken.

This team won, but they still suck. I fear when the good teams start coming to town.

I don’t hate Sato as much as everyone. His scoring needs to be better, but the ball never sticks when he’s in and the offense moves a lot better.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong

Thinking out loud,

We pretty much won the same way we lost except the pistons played the role of us and we had the home cooking those teams we lost to were fortunate to have. Maybe we put some things together and get some wins at home to boost our confidence. We have had double digit leads in all our games except the raptors so the talent is there its effort on defense and hitting the glass, coaching and execution down the stretch that's hurting us. These things are fixable

A win against a very bad pacers team would be huge. Then we have the lakers at home. Season not over yet maybe a win tonight begins to turn things around. Major plus is we could have given the game up once again but regardless of how ugly it was, we pulled it out.
