They are too entitled and too rich to have to work extra.

it continues to get worse, but if we're honest it's been like this for a long, long time. even michael jordan said after his olympic team experience that he would've had to think hard about playing for bob knight in the long-term. of course, knight was on a whole other level in terms of treatment of players

a fully committed professional athlete pushes himself plenty hard. he's happy to take constructive criticism, but he doesn't need the coach to be on his back. and while the less-than-fully-committed pro athlete might recognize that such a coach is beneficial for him, in most cases he'll be even less likely to appreciate that coach than the guy who doesn't need the extra motivation. because of his weaker mentality
the donald, always unpopular, did worse in EVERY state in 2020. and by a greater margin in red states! 50 independently-run elections, none of them rigged

Hoiberg was literally brought in for the exact reason you describe. How much success did he have? Recall that our FO actually thought Thibs was holding the team back from championship level.

Sure, every player isn't the same, but Thibodeau's problem is that he does not adapt well. Thibodeau will go into his new situation doing the same thing he did in 2010, barking the same orders, and will tire players out physically and mentally within a few years.

Because he yells out defensive assignments? That's weird to nitpick about.

Not sure exactly who was worn out, because the Bulls won 50 games the season Thibs got fired. That doesn't sound like players being tired out.

His main players actually declined in terms of efficiency with less minutes on other teams, so the minutes thing is also odd. A lot of players had career years under Thibs and then their career cratered or fell off the map entirely when they played for other coaches. It seems like he got the most of all the players he had.

Yep, 3 Pax coaches on that list including Skiles. All of them the same type, hard nosed defensive grindstones. He really wanted to hire Doug Collins as a coach here as well, who might have the list as well if that happened.

This is just who Pax is and the culture he played in the mid 80s when Doug Collins was our coach and MJ was getting in fistfights with teammates in practice. The NBA he knew isn't today's NBA and I think he realizes that and willing to step away knowing he can't work with today's culture.

Don't confuse players not wanting to play for a certain coach with the coach being a bad one. Some coaches are labeled as players coach and there are others who are labeled as hard-ass who stick to their principles. Thibs is known around the league as stubborn and annoying. Even Paul Pierce found him to be an annoying nerdy coach, but he did respect him, for he was working harder than anyone else. This is certainly not a vote of confidence to bring Thibs back, but an admission to the fact that many players these days are primadonnas who don't want to deal with hard coaching. I'd stay away from Thibs, though, because he also has a history of feuding with his superiors.
