Hey everyone, and please excuse the blatant promotion.

Now that I'm full time remote permanently at my job and gained 2.5 hours back on my commute, I'm going to try and bring back the Bulls Beat on a regular basis.

Your old feed may not work as I moved to podbean for subscriptions:

You can check out the reboot episode at:
Website: bullsbeat.podbean.com
RSS: https://feed.podbean.com/bullsbeat/feed.xml
http://linktr.ee/bullsbeat will get you links to everything

If you ever want to ask a question for the show, just respond to this thread or @doug_thonus on twitter.

Great news, Doug! I found this board because of your podcast and blog, so this is definitely a throwback for me. Give Shams a shout out and get it on The Athletic!

Not sure I really want to be behind a paywall (even under the assumption they would be interested), though I'm sure they could spread the show which would be nice.

Ok, listened to the episode, so I'll leave a question for the next one.
What would be your plan for this Bulls roster going forward?

(I'm gonna leave my plan, just because)
This draft, I would try to trade Markannen (I see Phoenix at 10 as the absolute best case scenario; also Boston at 14 and Philly at 21), Sato and young (Blazers at 16 plus dead money?). Next trade deadline, I'd dangle Lavine to see what we could get and try to trade Porter for a bad contracts and a pick (picks, depending on the contracts). We're not gonna get any good free agents on this team for now.

Will discuss on the show, but I have to say, I'd probably do something awfully similar.

"If you could trade any future in the league with the Bulls how many teams would you trade with?" Is an interesting topic.

And honestly it's a significant majority. The Cavs/Hornets/Pistons/Knicks are 4 easy "No" answers (Kings probably as well mainly due to them also having negative impact ownership). And while there may be a couple more, it's not many and they're not home runs. Pax and Gar drilled this team into oblivion where other high end franchises would have adapted (Pat Riley and Danny Ainge being 2 high end examples).

After Drose's catastrophic injury in 2012 and roughly on par with the disaster that was the 2014 Dougie Buckets trade, holding onto GarPax after the 2017 playoff loss to Boston was the most negatively impactful decision made in recent Bulls history. That was observably their last gasp after 4 years of trying to futilely adapt to the aforementioned catastrophe of DRose's ACL. How do you let Pax and Gar trade your #1 premium asset after 4 years of completely wrong decision making? You can make better signings. Better draft picks. Better trades. All of which need one thing - better decision makers.

We'll see how AK and Eversley do. But I've long been of the opinion that our decision makers failed far too often and far too long to have been given the time they were given. And that is the 2nd most catastrophic factor to the current status of this franchise in the last 10 years.

Awesome, will add to the podcast que!

My office is making us come downtown twice a week now.
I actually don't mind it as much because the train is empty and the bus just flies to my office.

and I get a couple of hours to listen to my podcasts.

I think I like a balance of home/office. Too hard to do everything I do at home and I miss working with real people.

We went permanently remote, but I built out the ability to have three people work in my basement, and so I regularly have people I work with come over and we work together still. That's been a nice mix.

First the Donovan hire and now Doug is back! Hell yes. Too much good news this week.

About to be like the old days on this board - we just need Doug to host another draft party and for Sham to start positing pictures of his foot lesions again.

Doug is like the groundhog or a robin. Comes out when times are getting better and the sun starts to shine. I expect this team to pull a miracle in the lottery and be in the ECF in 3 years. And for this board to feel relevant again.
