See right when people give arguments ro why Lauri isnt worth 20 mil, you see this and it begs to differ
NBA Agents know market rates.
This sets the market for Lauri for about $16mil a year no?
I would say this isnt definitive of much. They are both largely single position players, but that’s where the comparisons stop. Kennard injury history is more concerning but he is ascending and a better shooter. Lauri is younger but has a higher ceiling and his 2nd year peak is beyond anything Kennard has done. Kuzma is the better comp for positional reasons alone.

DASMACKDOWN wrote:That has to be his agent spewing for 20 mil. Lauri clearly is at a 16mil rate or less right now. Thats even based on his peers or players who have similar playing traits. Geesh Sabonis got a 4/77mil deal which isnt 20 mil. And Sabonis is clearly much better than Lauri right now. Sabonis was a freaking allstar last year.
I don't think the agent is wrong. I don't see an issue with the Bulls not giving him a deal. That's why they're at an impasse.
I think you're looking at Lauri's value the wrong way. First Sabonis got his deal before he became an all star. His numbers were very similar to Lauri's at that point. If you compared Lauri to Sabonis before last year, I think most would take Lauri.
A young guys deal is also based on potential. Look at Zach. He got a 4/77 coming off a torn acl, 24 game season and shooting 38%.
Lastly, Lauri's gonna look so much better this year with a real coach and offensive system. Why wouldn't he bet on himself?
I'd like us to get him on a value deal too but that's clearly not in the cards.

That makes sense but sucks to pay for a guy coming off an injury like that. Someone would have overpaid for him next year though. Maybe even the Bulls.

That's a solid deal for Isaac. He has high upside.
There's risk of course but I like it.
Now the Fultz deal? No thank you.

Re: Around The NBA
Lauri's agent saw Fultz get 3/50 and thought he could scam Bulls. Me and AK lol'ed together.
