Training Camp One Week Away - What Do You Want To See

1. Offensive System... Lavine off Ball. Lauri as a shooter running off screens like Bertans and Duncan Robinson. WCJ playmaking in high post. Coby playing like a PG and not just getting his.

2. Healthy and in shape. Otto I’m looking at you.

3. PDub destroying fools.

We won’t know much until the first exhibition game for system and rotations. There will be plenty of tidbits.

Number 2 - Wendell, that means YOU TOO!

I am hopeful that the additional developmental staff will help some with the health issues this team has struggled with over the last few years. Obviously that isn't their primary responsibility but it seems like having more eyes on the players as well as coaches that are hopefully working more directly/closely with the players ensuring that they are following the correct practices should help players to avoid senseless injuries.

Maybe I'm asking for too much.

1. Improvement from all our young players (LaVine, Markkanen, & WCJ)

2. Confirm Patrick Williams is able to play the 3.

3. See what OPJ in great shape looks like.

First of all, YAY! The good news about this season is that we don't have the summer doldrums to do nothing.

Honestly, the goal is that guys come in in shape and stay healthy. That would be a win.

With a new coach and system, there will be a lot to learn. It would be nice to hear that guys like Coby, Zach, WC and Pat are picking it up quickly.

News about bulls basketball. I’m just a fiend, fiending fiendishly away. Also:

- typical new coach honeymoon crooning
- Coby and Zach meshing
- Patrick Williams lack of ceiling
- health
- nobody jacked of juiced, locked or loaded, or punching a fake factory clock

I need to see a mean streak from WCJr. ...I do want Coby to distribute but not loose his offensive aggression...I am most interested in seeing PWill and seeing Dotson...need to see if AK knows what he's doing.....and most of all how BD coached this team....I expect better D!

I want to see Lauri welcome PWill and Dotson like he did welcome Coby.

Seriously.. I would like to see healthy players that are having fun. This training camp without Boylen already feels like winning in a lottery.

1. LaVine to play with consistency from the jump. He has almost an entire month during the start of the season where his play is subpar to awful.

2. WCJ showing a elbow jumper and a decent 3 ball. Also being used to facilitate the offense at times in the high post.

3. Coby improving his play making, and see if he can continue where he left off towards the end of last season.

4. Overall health for the team. It's really hard to see any kind of development when guys are always sidelined.

videos of a more mature looking and jacked up Coby White talking about taking ownership of this team and being the leader

videos of Zach talking about being a DPOY type player

Gafford and Mokokka talking about earning minutes and aiming for huge contracts, being all star level players

Markkannen taking it to the hole and living in the post, improved passing, trying to imitate Jokic

1 -Lauri Markkanen - Knock down shooting from midrange to outside with increased assertiveness on the offensive side of the game.
2 -Improved playmaking ability from a PG standpoint for Coby White
3 -We know Zach Lavine can score, but has he improved getting his teammates involved. I want him to be a sudden triple double threat.
4 -Can Patrick Williams play SF - More visual evidence of his floor being Luol Deng.
5 -Can Otto stay healthy?
6 -Will Wendell Return to his Block Panther form?

Better use of Markkanen when he's tightly defended on the perimeter, other than just dump the ball to Lavine and become a spectator.

If Donovan can get this out of 31 year old Gallo on reconstructed knees, there's no reason Markkanen shouldn't be able to run this play.
Spoiler:

Easier looks for Lavine, rather than Zach having to just jack up contested shots. He was top 5 in the NBA in being forced into shooting shots with a defender within 0'-2'. Pretty much on par with Lillard. Lavine's role in the offense was to hero-ball when the playbook offense failed. Problem was, Boylen's offense failed 9 out of 10 possessions. Get Lavine a role in the offense that's better than make-crap-up-when-the-shot-clock-is-down-to-6.

More high screens and handoffs/assists for Carter. When you have a C that can't shoot, that's generally what you do with them, and Carter is a decent passer. Adams, Adebayo and other centers were active in the offense in this role. Joakim proved how effective this was almost 10 years ago.

I don't expect much out of PG play, it's still Sato. Coby will play some 1 but he's more of a scoring guard. Interested to see if Dotson can get some burn.
Have zero expectations out of Williams this year, the kid just turned 19 not long ago. I think he's a long term project.

Markkanen and Carter running the floor and shooting the ball in transition and running set plays.

Lavine, not worried about, White no real doubts, Porter if he's healthy he's fine, Valentine finds the role they have in mind for him, Gafford a jump shot, Hutchison, Kornet healthy beyond when the season starts, Williams listening

just everybody healthy enough to play

Coby. For me, its all about Coby. If Coby can take the next step and be utilized correctly, I think this team will surprise people. Thats my focus early on in the season.

Everything else feels secondary to seeing if Coby can run the team in a new system.

Competence on both sides of the ball and health for the season.

If those two things are addressed I'm certain the individual success will come
