Let's just trade Lavine for Suggs.

I'm convinced at least three of the top-5 guys are gonna be All-NBA caliber guys. I've never seen such an absolutely locked in top-5 this far before the draft.

/end draft thread

It's a bit of relief not having to over-analyze penny stocks.

Where’s Kuminga? I’d include him with this group too.

This guy was a top 5 prospect coming out of high school. Can’t believe that underachieving as a Freshman and age really can drop your draft stock. I don’t see guys like Jaden Springer or Josh Christopher really being better prospects then Quentin Grimes yet they are way up on draft boards because they are Freshman. Yes I think Grimes would be a nice prospect for the Bulls to target in the second round.

Why not just draft Suggs so he can play alongside LaVine next year? Ran Tankathon and Bulls got the 2nd pick on my first try.

I really like Davion Mitchell. He’d be a great fit for us.

I don’t get the Wagner hype. Getting abused tonight, he’s basically an elite role player in college that struggles to create for himself. Not sure how that transitions well to the NBA.

Juzang just obliterated him tonight. 27 points. Wagner currently has 2 with a couple minutes left.

I swear I'm not basing it off just this one game, but this combined with the "highlights" I've seen of Wagner…meh.

Yeah he went out with a whimper.

But the reality of it is that a vast majority of drafted prospects will end up in roles where their ability to create for themselves is not as important as their complementary skills like shooting/passing/defense.

And there is a lot of value in premium complementary pieces (like a Joe Ingles). I feel like that's what Wagner is a prospect to be.

I feel like he's late lottery worthy.

The other problem is the numbers aren't really jumping out either. 34% from 3 is just ok, 6 rpg is just ok. The assists are high for a guy his size.

Reminds of a better defensive, not quite as creative Avdija, another guy I really didn't like last year. If the percentages aren't great and the physical attributes aren't great, tough to get by in the NBA.

I feel good about him at 18-25, so not far off from late lottery. But some people talking like he's a top 10 lock. I'm missing it.

Me too. Jalen Johnson and Wagner are atop my “I don’t see it” big board. At least not as lottery picks.

I think the hope is he becomes an elite shooter. He's already pretty elite for a 19 year old, so it seems attainable to me.

Stroke looks great and he hits his FTs at a very high percentage (the 2nd part wasn't true of Deni for example).

I agree 100%. I've been saying it for more than a week now. He would provide so much of what we need in a PG and don't have. Elite on ball defense, high BBIQ, and a toughness and tenacity that seem lacking in many of our players, especially Lauri and Paw. I can give Paw a little slack. He's done an admirable job considering he wasn't a starter in College and had no training camp, etc. But Lauri is just soft. Beach muscles. No dog in him. Mitchell is as junk yard dog as they come. He's built like a linebacker, yet has a pretty good first step. He's not an elite shooter but teams won't be able to leave him unguarded either. And he and Zach could complement each other pretty well. Both can drive to the hoop. How I wish AK could pawn Coby off to the Pelicans for a mid First (they have 3) and their high second rounder. We could get Mitchell and a potential rotation wing like Benadict Mathurin, Isaiah Todd, Dosunmu, Chris Duarte, Taevion Kinsey, Tre Mann.....

Looks like my dude, Tyrese Haliburton, is on his way to win NBA Rookie of the Year. The kid that I had as the number one pick in the 2020 Draft during my pre-Draft scouting. I was the only one who had Hali as number one. I definitely know that. Anyways, if he keeps it up, Hali will win, Anthony Edwards be damned.

https://www.nba.com/news/kia-rookie-ladder-march-31-edition

As for this 2021 Draft scouting, I think I'm done with my Top 5:
5. J. Kuminga
4. C. Cunningham
3. E. Mobley
2. J. Suggs
1. J. Green

Suggs is having a great run so far. If Suggs goes on to win the NCAA Championship, congrats to him and Gonzaga but he wouldn't knock out Jalen Green from my number one spot. However, Suggs is super locked into my number 2 spot. Please remember, if you were following my posts, that I had Suggs as number one for a while. And Cade as number 2. Suggs would be locked into my number one if J. Green did not exist, or Suggs was doing this in the G-League, too. I had Green on my number 4 before he exploded during his last 5 NBA G-League games. His playoff performance locked in his number one positioning.

I know there's some hate for Jalen Green on the Chicago RealGM Bulls board. It's not just here. It's the majority of RealGM. Most of RealGM was dead wrong about Haliburton and Mikal Bridges. Don't make me break out Chicago Bulls RealGM Scouting GREATEST HITS where the majority here was wrong most of the time over the last 15 years.

I'll be honest. I was dead wrong about Jarrett Culver. Culver's NBA identity, now, has to be remolded to "defensive specialist" to have a long successful career. Culver can do it. He'll be fine if he does that.

I still see Anthony Edward's warts; bad defensively, inconsistent, weak jump shot.

I would never give Anthony Edwards, more affectionately known as "Ant Man," the ROY award because he also made NO IMPACT for the Minnesota Wolves. No positive impact whatsoever. They're DEAD LAST in the NBA with Anthony Edwards addition. I did not have Anthony Edwards in my top 4 before the Draft anyway. He might not even be in my Top 5. Looks like I'm right about him. The new thing is he's a 3PT shot jacker. He has no business being 13th in the entire NBA in 3PT ATTEMPTS. Bloody awful. He's 30% from there. It would be a sad day if Anthony Edwards was ever in a Chicago Bulls uniform. Ball hog. I do not see a superstar.

Imagine if we had Anthony Edwards, Coby White, and LaVine here at the same time. We're f*cked for a very long time in basketball hell.

Whatever your reasoning is (mindless scorer/a major threat to overtake Zach LaVine's position IF Green was to be here), to me, personally, your reasoning doesn't matter. We have to luck into Top 3 position to get Green anyway. Odds are truly against us.

- The only reasons why Cade is still in my Top 4 are his defense and playmaking in the half court. His March Madness was awful and makes me have doubts about him in big time pressure situations. He's also non existent in the fast break.

- Evan Mobley dominates the Pac 12 in defensive metrics, and offensive metrics, by a landslide. It's no contest. His March Madness performances were good. He can easily go number 1 or 2.

- Kuminga fades on defense. That's all I need to know.

Next, for me, is 6th - 10th. I'm not even sure if I'll do it.
- Franz Wagner looks ok, but I wouldn't count on him to be a prime time playoff performer especially with his ugly melt down against UCLA.

No need to lock this yet as we still have a shot at a top 4 pick! I'm betting $1 we get the 3rd pick.

But seriously tho, getting the pick this year would change the team's fortune in a huge way, specially since the top of the draft looks super strong.

Normally, I wouldn't get my hopes up about us moving up. But the Magic are cursed. It wouldn't come off as a surprise to Magic fans if we manage to move up in a top loaded draft.

The real winners are the teams who get a Top 5 Pick. Outside the Top 5, I see nothing but role players. Maybe you can find a gem or 2 outside the Top 5 but you have clear star talent with the Top 5 picks.

I don't know where to put this so I'm just gonna put it here: Does anyone else think Porter Moser could have had some NBA potential?

He struck me as a guy who really won with tactics and motivation, not recruiting. I feel like he could have become a highly regarded assistant and eventually HC in this league.

Anyone interested in looking at the 2nd round picks. Way I see it, we'll need a back up PG either way. If we have any chance of getting Lonzo, it likely entail dropping to trading Sato.

Beginning of the 2nd could be a good place to find a role playing PG that could develop (pretty sure Brunson was a 2nd, and I know there are others that had similar path). We have a swap with Pels we can use (if we end up with a better record than them ... so would love for them to start tanking at some point).

Sharife Cooper (Auburn) would be interesting if he was there. Really good offensive athlete; really fun to watch in college because of his playmaking. Surprised at first he was so low in mocks, but I also probably mostly saw highlights and a couple games where his offense really impressed. Not sure what his limitations are.

I wish we could at least get into the late 1st. Now that we have vet bigs, I'd be more interested in Kai Jones. I think he has some good under the radar potential as a mid first that could drop towards end of first.
