At this point the Bulls should sign him to a largely unguaranteed deal that can be traded for salary cap relief.

What?

He is almost gone, there is no need to give him any more money. Not a single team out there will ever trade for him just because his name is Felicio. Save the money, and if your looking to find salary cap relief, just save the dollars. He is off the books in a few months.

We only have a max of about 10 weeks left with this guy in a Bulls Uniform if that. He will have played his last game before then, and we will never have to talk about him again unless he turns into the Shaq of China.

The point of extending him on an unguaranteed deal is salary matching in a trade. Someone will trade for his contract then waive him at zero cost to get out of the financial commitment they made to another player. The Bulls should get a decent player while their trade partner saves millions in salary. It's not complicated and has nothing to do with Felicio's level of play.

FYI, this type of trade isn’t allowed anymore. Only the guaranteed portion counts in the trade for salary matching purposes.

I’m just happy he’s taking up a roster spot.

The hindsight bias is out right amazing with regards to felicio. He was very impressive in limited minutes his first two years. He was extremely good at boxing out and I mean extremely good like elite level box out guy also set great pics and somehow had great hands and was a very good finisher without having bad shot selection. He moved extremely well for his size. And he was a positive teammate.
