Is this supposed to make us feel better?

Frankly, I don't give a flying F what Booker thinks of Williams. Is there anything more humiliating than a guy absolutely killing you out there and then saying something nice and polite about you after the game?

It speaks volumes about the state of this team that we're fishing for compliments after we lose.

In a word, Yes!!!

P-Will played SG in this game going against one of the best scores in the league.

He's just demonstrating that he can play at least 3 positions.

Expect to see this more often.

Defending SG doesn't mean the defender also plays for a SG.

And PatWill got cooked by guards several times just like tonight's game. That's because his biggest weakness on defense is navigating his men through screens.

He is struggling at fighting through screens so players like Booker who are really good at using screens can cook PatWill anytime he wants to.

I would say that he did a good job overall but this situation is definitely not the best for his development - and for the Bulls.

Man a (miracle) Bulls-Suns finals in 2021 would do way way waaaaay worse in ratings than it did in 1993.

I really can’t explain Lauri. The intensity level waxes and wanes so much. He can really assert himself for periods but then just vanishes. He was so active in the first quarter! Hard cuts to the hoop. Aggressive rebounding. Then he pulls the Kaiser Sose.

This team really needs to up its intensity level on defense. It needs a borderline intimidator along the lines of Artest, Patterson, Draymond. It feels like those players are getting rarer but man...we need them. I’d even settle for a Nocioni.

It is. Well I dunno about ill-advised, a pretty good one if you ask me. But a joke nonetheless.

For those who have been here a while, remember when the April Fools' joke was that Jimmy Butler re-signed for 4 years, $40 million? We were supposed to be horrified how the Bulls had overpaid for Thabo the Second. Ah, good times.

Such a weird game. That second unit desperately needed Denzel's chucking, everyone else was just..... there, doing nothing.

Not sure what's harder, teaching a chucker to be more selective in their shot attempts. Or teaching a passive offensive player to do more.

Also, we're in such a weird spot with Lauri. I'm a fan, and have been a fan, but I just don't see the fit anymore after the trade deadline. I think he's being outplayed by Vuc, Young and Theis right now, and if given minutes I'm not sure Aminu wouldn't be a better fit.

Aminu only played 12 minutes as a Bull so far in the game verse the Spurs and the team was a +10 in those minutes. He had a 17, 10 and 6 game right before being traded to the Bulls. He's gone through a lot of injury issues recently but if he's healthy he might be a better compliment to our current rotation.

Which is an odd thing to even consider and shows what a slump Lauri has been in. Never thought I'd be pondering who should get minutes between Lauri and Aminu. But here I am.

5 man lineups I'm curious about - Temple / LaVine / Aminu / Young / Vuc.

Might be some spacing issues, but is it really that much worse than our current starting lineup from a spacing perspective?

Would like to see Theis starting next to Vuc.
Thad and Lauri looking for their own too often.
Not sure if anyone else noticed, but Vuc had post position multiple times but instead of feeding him, they drove towards him?? Vuc literally had to run out of the way.

Also liked Valentine handling the ball. Seems to be the only one capable of making an entry pass.

Valentine is serviceable at the PG bringing the ball up and swinging it side to side, he's not the guy to drive the lane past his man to the basket, turnover time. Just don't ask him to do too much.

Again saw good Lauri last night, he makes a case against bringing him back because he just can't bring that every night. Good Lauri for three games, invisible Lauri for the next two. It's not that a given matchup takes him out of the game, it's just him being inconsistent. They don't have enough of a team to cope with his off nights, we need him every game.

While Zach is out I would like to start Troy Brown jr at the SG and have the bench consist of White if he's back (otherwise Brown), Young, Theis, Green, Temple and Valentine. It's a small sample size but Theis is such a step UP from Gafford it's just not funny, he doesn't make the spectacular jam but he knows where he's supposed to be, why he's there and knows what he's supposed to do. Green may not be the same fundamental player Arci is but he's more athletic and you have to hope the defense will pay attention to him. Arci passes up so many chances to shoot because he wants to find the most open man for the most open shot the defense doesn't have to close on him.

I think the offense is sputtering because nobody is used to a center who can score inside or out, and can catch the ball even if it's not right in his chest. They are going to have to get used to a big man who knows how to get into position to score and is ready to catch the ball. The same applies to Theis.

Lauri had a break-out game with Coby/Zach out!

April fool’s!

He did rebound well, and first Q was smooth. Hell of a 10 minutes.
