Back to Sato. I know he's trying to act as our distributor and getting Vuc shots, but I'd like him to shoot a bit more (like 10 per game).

When the bulls landed him, I was excited we finally got a decent floor general who know how to set up players to get a good shot off. The downside during his first two years of him here is the Bulls were rostered with young talent and very borderline G-League guys lol.

Currently, Bulls have rostered a very good balance of young, promising talent mixed with veteran presence. I think this allows Sato do look more like PG than he has in the past (with Bulls).

Hopefully in the near future Bulls land Lonzo (or solid veteran), making Sato expandable in trade/off bench.

Sato is a very good fit in this starting lineup especially with Vucevic. He’s exactly what’s needed in that PG position to get his teammates involved and help them score. Also he has good basketball IQ, which is important.

He may not be the most consistent scorer but that’s fine he’s a role player and he will have games where he will score as well. Last year a lot of you didn’t like him because he wasn’t able to show what he can do on a losing team. He needs better players next to him to show his strengths. I always liked him and hope he stays beyond the season.

IMO, Sato is most comfortable as a 5th option guy, and with Carter going and being replaced by Vuc, he is only too happy to pass more and shoot less. I feel like NBA guys either have a mindset of:

"Is anybody open for a good shot", or

"Do I have an open shot"

Only if Billy Don can teach him to pass the ball into the hoop more lolol.
For now, I'm very okay with him passing up shots so Lavine/Voochie can chuck up a few more

I hope he doesn't end up as another player they should've kept just to have bigger success elsewhere. You can argue he is still more like a backup, but a pass first PG like him that can do a little bit of everything isn't easy to come by.

AKA, Greg Oden at 22.

I'm the first to agree that availability is a key ability, and Porter is anything but. That said, I wonder if any GM sees him as anything other than a reclamation project now. If we otherwise strike out in FA, a one-year "prove it" deal with a second year option, which gives us the ability to punt cap space forward a year, might be a decent risk/return.

Sign him to a good deal and trade him again at the deadline next year

Sato has been great this year, his steady presence has made a huge difference within the rotation.

Sato is playing very well lately. Doing everything well, not just shooting it well.

btw, whatever happened to "Wonderboy"? He used to post in every thread about how Sato wasn't even an NBA caliber player and was the worst player in the entire league. lol

I think Sato is looking much better as our future PG. He fits between Vuc and Lavine. He does more in the halfcourt than Lonzo too.

That's no excuse. When I got banned, I really attacked my rehab, worked on my game and came back stronger than ever with no minutes restrictions.

I guess I'm just built different.

Ideally you want all 5 positions to be a threat to score at any given time. Sato looks a lot better next to legit #1 options in Vuc and Lavine but ideally he's a backup starting next year. He's not a bad player, but he's not a starting caliber PG either.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.
