I remember not much longer than a year ago, lots of arguments on who had the better core, Bulls or Hawks. Seems impossible now that this question was ever asked.

Easy now.the Nets do exist

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Coach Bud is going to be the first coach to get fired after making a conference finals.

They might but you know how many times we talk about potential "dynasty" and they crumble in short time. ATL will be quite good until either Trae Young gets the supermax or Trae Young decides ATL is not where he wants to be for the rest of his career.

But it's way to early to have the "dynasty" talk with ATL.

Maybe the draft order was wrong but Trae, Luka and Ayton is looking like a studly draft class in the playoffs this year.

Bridges qualifies too but not quite at that level as the other 3. JJJ isn’t yet either. 2018 though just keeps looking better as a draft class as it ages.

People keep saying the Bulls could've been one of these teams but our roster construction is nowhere near ATL, Phoenix, etc. The Bulls really **** the bed with the WCJ pick. That draft was full of gems and we picked a journeyman.

Since then the trades, signings and picks have been underwhelming. So far with AKME we got a mediocre head coach, a mediocre starting center and a mediocre draft pick, and lose two potential lottery picks. Hell if it weren't for LaVine's meteoric ascension we'd be the laughing stock of the league.

I don’t think dynasty is exactly it but I do think they will terrorize the east in the fact they will be at least a tough out for a while. Kinda like the Bulls could have been without the injury to Rose. Atlanta has to resign Collins now though. They will be tougher too when Hunter is playing, Reddish is ok too at least will be a starter. They are in a good spot for sure. Barring major injuries of course.

Eh, I fully expect the Bucks to bounce back and win the series - so long as Bud adjusts. Brook Lopez should basically get no time against the Hawks, and PJ Tucker can't get any run at the 3. So either start Portis or start Giannis at the 5 and PJ at the 4, and bring in Forbes or Connaughton to start.

Might also need to get productive spot minutes out of their deep bench wings / forwards - Nwora or Jackson or Bryant or Toupane - since Atlanta is a much deeper team.

Yeah I didn't mean they'll win multiple championships. But they'll be sitting around the top year in and year out for a while. Similar to how Boston was before this year IMO.

Kudos to the Hawks. Kudos to Trae Young. I’ve always been a skeptic and I hate some big parts of his game, but he’s earning his superstar status big time this season and postseason.

It's painful seeing guys like Luka and Trae drafted so close to the Bulls selections, especially since it feels like EVERY damn year the Bulls will refuse to tank at the end of the season. Always winning meaningless games and getting mediocre picks. Frustrating.

Man, I was a doubter on Trae since his first draft hype. Figured he was a flame in the pan, too small, would be exposed in the NBA, etc. As usual, my personal scouting was completely wrong. Dude continues to rise up to the pressure with some old school swagger. And man, like Duck and others, I dislike so much of his foul creation game.

I think the Hawks should also break your idea that you need some amazing PG defense to make the team good.

Trae's next defensive stop, would be his first.

So are the defensive juggernauts on the Hawks? They aer one of the worst defensive teams and only Capela is above average. So having a cookie cutter "You have to have this or that" doesnt seem to apply in all cases.

I laughed at him as a wasted pick the first time I saw him as a rookie, early in the season on TV. He was a chucking no-defense waif. Then I saw him later in the year, in person, and I became a believer, even though he missed every shot. His BBIQ was very apparent in that game, as was his ability to get to whatever spot he wanted.

What I didn't know until now (who did?) was that he's a playoff gamer. Some guys are, some guys aren't. Very hard to know until you get there. You sign Khris Middleton to a big contract and then discover he's not. You have Trae and learn that he is. A bit of luck involved with that.

Now THOSE Hawks players will play in the Eastern Conference Finals LMFAO.

Yeah Hawks actually put together a solid team. They added Capela, Gallinari,Bagdanovic, Lou Will to their young core which made them a lot more experienced and better. This is a deep squad. I didn’t expect them to make it this far but good for them they deserve it.

Gallinari has been especially valuable. Consistently getting 15-20 point a game with maximum efficiency.

He's a natural born mismatch-killer. Smaller guards can't defend his Iso on the post.

Their roster depth is really good so they can use Gallinari as a sixth man and it has been really working well.
