GT: Bulls VS Pistons The Rematch 7pm CST

Post#1 » by Jvaughn » Sat Oct 23, 2021 2:30 am

The rematch everyone has been waiting for. On the tail end of a back to back. And look for Detroit to play with more edge, hoping to even up the season.

Chicago Bulls starting lineup:

PG: Lonzo Ball
SG: Zach Lavine
SF: Demar DeRozan
PF: Patrick Williams
C: Nikola Vucevic

Detroit Pistons starting lineup

PG: Killian Hayes
SG: Frank Jackson
SF: Saddiq Bey
PF: Jerami Grant
C: Isaiah Stewart

Injury Report

Chicago
Coby White- Out

Detroit
Cade Cunningham- Out
Rodney Mcgruder- Day to Day
Isaiah Livers- Day to Day

Keys to game:
-Need to get off to a faster start
-Again Vuc has got to start stringing it together
-PAW needs to be more active out the gate
-Need to look to push the ball at every opportunity
-Bench needs to keep up the energy

The Pistons' game plan will be backfiring early and the Bulls will stampede to another W to begin the season.

Let's go!

Kind of strange that the Pistons play the Bulls 2 straight games to open the season, while the Bulls had the Pelicans sandwiched between the games. Means the Pistons have been resting and watching the Bulls for 3 days now, and the Bulls haven’t. Hopefully doesn’t matter, but kind of silly to me.

We need to do a lot better against their zone defense than we did Wednesday. Vuc 3 point % will come around, Patrick Williams will either get his legs under him or be replaced by Javonte Green, foul disparity will even out, but what won't change is our offense looked ugly against the zone.

Hopefully our guys get some rest tonight. Pistons haven’t played another game yet. This could be a trap but we need this win before our 12 game stretch of good teams. Let’s make it happen! Hopefully we blow them out but they played well game one and they’re rested.

On the plus side, they don’t need to learn a new gameplan. They already know how they play and how to beat them. Just gotta execute now

Looking forward to this first back to back of the season. Hopefully the Bulls got more rest than myself.

Starting the season 3-0 would be a great feeling for everybody.

Just win this game.

Again: no excuses. Gotta keep it up against the bad teams, tough stretch coming up soon.

Bulls need to find a way to find way more easy transition buckets than in the first meeting. I don't think the Pistons should have much of a chance when the pace is higher.

Keys to the game:

Attack Killian Hayes all game when he’s in
Box Grant out
Anticipate the pick and roll and cut the roll by being ahead of the cut

We are 9-point favorites! I haven’t seen that kind of spread for the Bulls in a minute.

I have to admit that I haven't had the following feeling for a long time. Of course, I've watched the games at night for the past few years too, but I haven't been looking forward to a back to back game for a long time as I do right now. The game against the Pelicans is only a few hours old and I already can't wait to see the Bulls play again. I mean, I just had only 4 hours of sleep….I am tired…but I don’t care about a back to back night with less sleep. Heck, I feel young again  Thank you Bulls

We need to get this game, we really do, because we are on the verge of a brutal stretch against really good teams for about 2-3 weeks.

These are the types of games we need to win, and not have our guard down for. There are no such things as easy wins, but I’ll be extremely disappointed if we drop this one.

I think DET is a good defensive team and makes our 1/2 court passing tough. I see a few keys to the game:

1) We need to make our 3's. We weren't making them in DET and we seem better at home.

2) Put more pressure on Grant. He's a tough cover for Pat, and if he can't do the job, give Green more run.

3) Vuc needs to make those bunnies he missed in DET.

I think this team is going to push hard to win the first 4 games. Zach needs his first 4 game win streak in the NBA, and they are winnable. Team USA won 4, preseason was 4 now we need the NBA to get 4. Keep the good times rolling. Obviously we need to win tonight but it is very doable if they are focused and don't sleep on the Pistons.

In a way it is great for the Bulls. they are going to have to get used to teams game planning for them, which they rarely faced in the recent past, and it being the Pistons it is a best case scenario. It is good for their development which if they want to be a legitimate playoff team, they will need. Teams will be coming at the Bulls this year instead of not noticing them on their schedule. Most of the east will be joking for position all year. Bring on the adversity! Let's see what these men are made of.
