The difference Rudy Gobert makes for that Jazz defense is just insane. They’re completely lost without him. Whiteside is TERRIBLE.

Also, we'd need to include Pat or Coby $wise to get either RoCo or Nance in a deal with POR (unless we get a 3rd team involved to take DJJ who can't be traded back to POR).

You may be right on RoCo's offense this year, though he's never really been a high volume guy.

I don't think we really need a big offensive punch at the 4, particularly if we keep Coby. Just need a guy who is big enough to at least match up with Giannis/KD, can play some small ball 5, and can knock down open 3s.

Right now the blueprint to beat the Bulls in a 7 game series seems pretty simple. On offense, either exploit the lack of size at the 4 or run non-stop high PnRs against Vuc. On defense, blitz the PnR and cheat off DJJ/Javonte. We need to shore up those weaknesses to have a real puncher's chance. RoCo looked like he would fit the bill last night, though admittedly a one-game sample size haha

Anfernee Simons since starting for Portland, last 5 games: 27.8 ppg, 7.6 apg, 51/45/91, Blazers are 3-2 without CJ and Dame.

Simons just looks so confident, similar to what Coby is doing. Really wanted him over Hutchinson, oh well.

Wonder if this makes Dame or CJ a little more available. Dame for Simmons if Simons plays like this? Why not.

Watched a good chunk last night. He does look really good.

I’d rebuild around Simon, but wouldn’t be surprised if they go with their heart. They ought to be able to get quite a haul for Simons/CJ/picks to pair a star with Dame. Thought they had a pretty clean cap sheet coming soon too, but could be wrong on that. I can only remember Powell getting long term money.

Can’t really have a "clean" cap sheet with Dame, CJ and Powell on their current contracts. They’re going to make roughly 100 mil combined in the 23/24 season.

You're telling me this doesn't remind you of DPOY level defense?

I’m hoping Caruso comes back against the Nets and Warriors.

Oh, Lord. That reminds us of why Whiteside had such a hard time breaking into the NBA in the first place. For a while in Miami he largely fixed his bad mental habits. But it seems that they are returning.

Portland looked awesome last night. They might actually be OK without Dame and CJ the rest of the way. Simons is balling.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

Portland should go all in, trade Dame & CJ and build around Simons etc.

Dame to Philly for Maxey would be great for the Blazers.

If Paul George is out for the year, kiss the Clippers season good bye as well. The West is looking like a 4 team race- GS, PHO, UT and MEM.

Mavs (Kebler and Finney-Smith) couldn't miss vs Bulls and now miss everything against Knicks.

Hayward is 9 for 9 at halftime. Wonder what the highest quantity of shots is without a miss all time
