We could have 2 first rounders in the upcoming draft, so let's start this thread.
Seems to me like a weaker year at the top in college compared to last year with Zaga/Baylor.

Draft wise, I'm intrigued by AJ Griffin. He could fly under the radar this year given the other high-profile freshman at Duke.
Also like TyTy Washington.

What a relief it is to not have to follow the draft prospects so closely this year.

Sort of wonder if AKME will draft one guy for this year with the POR pick if it conveys, then draft and stash with the Bulls pick (which is still, hopefully in 22-30 range).

A lot of guesswork on where a lot of these guys ultimately land, other than the top 2.
Really like Trevor Keels, built like Desmond Bane, could easily see him playing the 3 in this small ball system. Could be a guy available in the late teens, but again, if he balls out, could also be a top 10 pick.
Nikola Jovic is getting a lot of hype, may be available when the Bulls pick too.
Would also be watching Andre Curbelo closely now that he’ll have the reigns at Illinois. Just moves differently than a lot of guys, flashy passes. Hopefully the shooting improves.
Daimian Collins is a raw athlete at 6-9” and has a jumper.
Will be watching him at UK closely too. Right around the range of the Bulls 2 picks.

Not very impressive in his first game.
I knew nothing about him other than he was a 5-star from Illinois. But he looked rather pedestrian aside from a nice shooting stroke.

Hard pass on drafting/stashing (unless you had them #1 on your board anyway).
We should have enough roster churn that you can have 2 rookies on the bottom of the roster. If we're serious about internal development, that should be the case.

We dont own our 2023 1st round pick, right? Unless we are top 4 bottom teams that year that pick staying with Magic. So Bulls definitely need t draft in 2022. Not only for development reason, but also for salary cap reason. That's getting player(s) on cheap salary.
If Blazers pick converts possibility of drafting 2 players in 2022 makes sense given we will miss next one. No reason for stashing. My guess is we will look at adding size and lenght. Wouldnt be suprised adding possibly two multipositional wing-big prospects.
I know I know draft for talent over draft for fit. But luck is part of it.

Benedict Mathurin. Wing shooter with a good frame and fluid movement. Think he could be a big time shooter at next level and play switchy D.

Really nice QB skills (4:30-5:30).
His old-school spin moves and low-post hooks are incredibly smooth.

Question for those who know more about the trade restrictions regarding our pick:
1. We can't trade the pick obviously. Can we trade the player we pick right after he's drafted?
2. Can we package the pick with the Portland pick to move up in the draft?

Holmgren is going to be an awesome chess piece for somebody if he can actually shoot.

I believe the both of those can be pre-agreed upon on draft night...ie we can agree to trade the Portland pick and technically pick who our trade partner wants, and they could do the same. Of course, that presupposes we haven't lost our pick, but I'll be optimistic that we keep it.

I like Roko as a prospect. Not elite athletically but he's got a good all around game and has good size for a "4", and he is young. Lots of room for expanding his game as he matures and gains experience. He could eventually become a good back-up to PWill. I don't think he can match up with the elite PFs like Giannis. But how many can? Durant is still performing at a high level but he has peaked. And he will probably be injury prone from here on out. Giannis is that one unicorn it's hard to match up with.

He is an intriguing prospect. Very fluid in the open court for someone so tall. But that frame scares the hell out of me. I'draft him #1 and "red-shirt" his rookie season and send him to an elite trainer who can add some functional body mass to his frame. The NBA is just too rugged for a young kid that is so thin. He's probably a one and done player, but he'd be a project for a few seasons. But if keeps his skill level while gaining 30 pounds of mass and strength he could be a real unicorn type player. He's one of those guys that could end up a superstar or end up a bust.
About where we will be picking what do you think of Drew Timme? He might still be available to us when we pick. I get that he's a little older and isn't a superstar athlete. But he has the size and skill level to play the "4" or back-up "5". He is gifted offensively around the basket. Really experienced. I think he'd he'd be a rotation player for us in year 1. He can play the "4" and maybe some "5" in certain matchups.
