Tyrus would tease us but I think we knew pretty early on that he probably would never put it all together.

I think I would have to say Lauri for disappointing. I didn't like the pick originally but his first 2 years he was legitimately awesome and got our hopes up that he could be a guy you could build around. Then he just completely fell apart for really no reason(other than Boylen)

McDermott would be second. He was overdrafted by GarPax which wasn't his fault but he was supposed to be someone who could contribute day 1 but he wasn't ready

Voted D. Rose... again, not that I didn't like him and all but we had a glimpse of a generational player, a glimpse of success and it was gone with an injury. More his heartbreaking injury at that time than himself that is disappointing. We got a taste of what D.Rose was like... dominating against all other top PG on the league... and then it was all gone.

But from all those players, that's the one I would love to happen again. All others were flops or meh... even if we had some hope, none was bigger than what we got with D.Rose and nothing compares to the what if he didn't get injured.

I voted Rose, but I remember thinking back in the day that Snell could become the next Rip Hamilton. Boy was I wrong.

It's not nonsense and the reasoning for it has been clearly explained. Anyone disregarding it at this point is looking at it from a purely emotional perspective and equating it with insulting Rose and downplaying his achievements when that's not what's happening at all.

i voted for boozer instinctively but would have voted for rose had i thought about it more

Booz was always going to be a disappointment from the start as he wasn't Bron, Wade, Bosh, or even Amare.

Agreed. Rose exceeded his potential/expectations when he became a league MVP. Everything else that happened on the court was out of his control.

Tyrus Thomas is the easy answer here.

JWill. The second pick in the draft. Crashed his motorcycle into a light pole on his first ride. In direct violation of his contract. Ending his career after one season. MFer. Least he didn't kill anybody like Ruggs or J.R. Smith.

It becomes a grey area of speculation. Thibs “legend” grew in part because Rose was great. Because of that synergy and the surprise success he had, to this day players are willing to buy in. I think they needed each other and in a way still do. There is clearly a bond there. That said I wish I had a bind with Thibs. I love that maniac.

Last high lotto pick by a team firmly expected to be in the postseason for the foreseeable future. Drafted over a guy who will get legitimate hall of fame consideration in LaMarcus Aldridge.

Honestly the guy should have been what John Collins is now but with 1st team all defense.

With that said I'm surprised Lauri didn't get more votes. This was a guy that many people were comparing to DIRK after his rookie year. To which I would say at the time, the comp didn't seem entirely crazy. I never really saw the Amare/Tyrus comparisons. Amare had way more size/power and didn't defend at all.

For me, Jay Williams easily. He was a really high profile draft pick, arguably dominated the college game. Before DRose, he was the guy seen as potentially the savior of this franchise post-MJ.

Jay had a less than stellar rookie campaign (although I'd blame Cartwright for part of it, forcing the team to play triangle, not really suitable for a speedy run the court guy like Jay). The motorcycle injury was really dumb and disappointing as a fan rooting for the Bulls and him to comeback and have a strong sophomore season.

I can forgive the Tyrus Thomas pick. He was a guy with really high ceiling, but very risky that he may never figure it out. He's a high risk, high potential. He was a calculated risk.

I understand the DRose disappointment, but refuse to call him the most disappointing Bulls player. He gave us the best when he's healthy, and just not the same player after injury. We all know we won't be getting the same player again. To me, it's more sad than disappointing. I'm disappointed that it had to happen to our franchise and to DRose. But I'm not disappointed with DRose.

I wanted to vote for Doug but then I realized it wasn’t his fault GarPax traded a huge pile of stuff to overdraft a guy who clearly lacked the physical tools to be an impact player.
